First 2 goals were DM fails. The cutbacks are where DM should be. Not CB.

The third goal, everyone should hang head in shame (other than Lloris).
Hes basically defending against absolutely no one in the first two goals too. Especially shit for the 2nd one. Just runs looking at the ball , trying to run towards it when sanchez had their leftwinger covered anyway , leaving their striker completely free. No one would notice if he hadnt even been there. For the 3rd , saka makes him look a complete fool which he is. Just like when Lukaku left him on the floor in the previous game.

Hes gained too much weight and moves like a pregnant cow. Its not a coicidence that this idiot started playing more as a CB in the last few years and our defense went to shit.

The fact we signed the Serie A defender of the season for 42m but started this ponderous oaf in our most important game of the season so far just sums up our club right now.

Dross player. Would struggle to get into the Port Vale back line. Like Alli, he's regressed massively over the last few years. He genuinely looked a propsect at one point, both for us and England. It's almost like as soon as he shaved his hair he became as shit as he looks.

What?

Dier was class today.
You missed his part in the goal we conceded? I remember pointing out Winks was shit very early on, but the 'believers' kept seeing something in him. Theyve given up hope finally , including the manager.

Poch had given up on Dier. Jose his big fan had given up on Dier and sooner or later Nuno will give up on Dier. But there will still be some on here thinking 'he was solid' while he stands there just watching goals scored against us like a CB version of Doherty.

Eric was excellent, you can't put the goal entirely on him.

Ndombele failed to even make an attempt at a tackle in the build up.

Moura didn't cover the defensive space and didn't track his runner. This left Royal in a 2 vs 1.

Romero had pushed up and missed his tackle.

The pass into the box was inch perfect.

But sure, it was all Dier's fault. (can't we also blame Hugo for not saving it?)

He wasnt excellent .

While it wasnt all his fault, but he does terrible things every game. It adds up to be very very costly. He had just 1 job in that play , to stop the ball getting to the 1 guy he had to cover. How he just lets it go past him while their player gets there easily is just shameful.

Watching the reply, I am not convinced Eric knew the player was there. Reguillon was tracking him, but dropped off as a another player was coming unmarked at the back post. Holjberg and Romero were running back, but didn't seem to be tracking any players.

The ref playing the advantage after the Romero foul was what enabled the goal. At that point several of our players were out of position. None of Skipp, Holjberg and Ndombele were goalside of the ball which forced Romero out of position to cover.

Of course it started with romero losing the ball. But dier should have known watkins is making that run. He remained close enough to watkins. Problem is, he is very very slow. So he couldnt match watkins' run. If it was romero or even sanchez or tanganga instead of dier. they would have slid in to stop that ball going through to watkins. Goal avoided.

You can still like the guy if you want, but its painfully obvious how much his lack of movement hurts us.
