And as I answered, some of those top strikers also had a low conversion rate, but they had other things going for them. So while it was still a flaw, they were still world class.

Here's one for you - if the average EPL shooting accuracy rate is 32% and Kane is 42% is he below or above average? Here's the OPTA data again in case you forgot how you were owned yesterday.

Average across leagues: 34.2%
Average for EPL: 32%
Average for La Liga: 36%
Average for Bundesliga: 36%
Average for SerieA: 33%

Harry Kane over the last 4 seasons: 42%
 
So you claim Kane is no good for ENGLAND and when you are challenged with it being pointed out that neither Messi or Cruyff contributed to HOLLAND or ARGENTINA in INTERNATIONAL finals

you come back with all their league accomplishments ....

Obviously Cruyff and Messi are world class, but equally obviously even they couldn't drag their team over the line in two world cup finals ... can't repeat it often enough it's a team sport.

You are able to differentiate between apples and oranges? - no of course you're not.

Kane is awesome.. but tbh comparing it to the average accuracy is not good at all. That would include the accuracy of all shots from all players including defenders for example.

So the fact that his shooting accuracy is 10% higher than average in the PL is nothing that great tbh. Again.. I am not saying that he is not great.. but it's not exactly a statistic that makes him look good or anything.

Nobody is claiming that it is - the point made by dumb and dumber was that Kane was below average - to get their 'average' they picked a very few players with the best accuracy rates ... so not a fair average at all.

FYI - oddly many defenders have a better accuracy rates than strikers, guess it's because they don't shoot until they can see the whites of the goalkeepers eyes ... several forwards are way lower than Kane and indeed several are higher. Depends if you're a shoot on sight like Ronaldo or only shoot when you think you will score like Son ... horses for courses.

You can make statistics say almost anything - I tend to use OPTA as they cover every player not just a selected few.

All those goals against Pacos, Mura and relegation level opposition yet Kane's legacy at this present time is the guy that got a free ride into the CL final, and ultimately took Lucas Moura's spot.

And also the guy that tried to force a move away from Tottenham only to get rejected by Pep, the oil barons, and everyone else out there.

Actually, I change my mind, Vardy might be out of Kane's league. He's actually got some silverware with an inferior side. Jiminez might be the closest comp at this moment in time.
