Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'm glad he was booed but surely Levy knew this was going to happen. Look at it from Kane's viewpoint. You're the club's main striker with an academy striker the only alternative. You stayed at a club for years scoring lots of goals. The club is now going nowhere and you're near the end of your career with no trophies to show for it. But the club blocks your dream move and last hope of winning something.

Did Levy really fucking think Kane was going to come out and work his bollocks off especially knowing the team were almost solely dependent on him for goals? He, rightly or wrongly, has fallen out with Levy/ENIC so it was obvious he'd start acting the prick.

Levy is either a complete simpleton or just such a cheapskate he was happy to have a disgruntled senior player the club's main striker for the season.
Hes an adult who signed a contract of his own volition. Fuck blaming Levy for Kane downing tools, we don't owe Kane anything but his pay cheque. Spurs have made Harry a very rich man.

He’s downed tools and the club has given him license to believe that’s he’s bigger than it.
But so have many of the supporters...and many in this thread still are. How many were "no way we sell Kane to the oil slavers. Kane has to play here till he's 57 to show we're a big club"?

Selling him actually shows that no player is bigger than the club and we aren't reliant on him. Instead we went full ahead with Harry Kane FC and only Igula Igula is happy. I kinda want this to go on as long as the Jose ordeal so lessons can be learned.

Kane’s been pretty shit this season right

He's been abysmal.

He's had slow starts to the season before but even in those times you can definitely say he often did everything but score, and also was never lacking in effort. Now he just strolls around offering no more than what most League One strikers can offer. I get that he's gutted his dream move didn't happen and it takes some time to recover mentally. But all he's doing right now is making it seem like Man City dodged a bullet in not signing him or paying anything like what they were willing to.

I enjoyed the first few games. Dele not doing much but covering serious ground and busting a gut …. And it looked like his confidence was creeping back in …. What happened

Skipp and hojbjerg grafting protecting thst back 4

It reminded me of the pool midfield.. not a great deal of creativity but horrible to play against

Then 3 speedy fuckers switching all across the front line and we were a team awkward to play against and fast as fuck

It was a decent 4:3:3

In come Harry

The whole thing fell to shit …. It was like something the team was invigorated by was returned to the tried and tested system and personnel that had failed 3 seasons running

That’s got to psychologically affect players and the old accommodate Kane system has on right on track returned to failing

We’re not brave enough

I like Harry Kane. He’s an unbelievable striker

But the new horizon exists only without him… otherwise it’s merely a platitude

The first few games all I saw was something like a new manager effect. Some of the players were putting in more of a shift than usual. That bubble has long burst.

I totally agree

It’s just I’ve no interest in learning the hard way with a tacit I told you so in which to revel

I had no issue selling him to City if the price was right and there was a plan to bring in a system, manager and players that would work.

If the plan was to bring in Nuno and Paratici then selling or keeping Kane means nothing because the players and plan is dogshit.

Apologies for quoting my own post

But I also believe Nuno lost the momentum, confidence and respect when he put Harry back in

He didn’t have a set big enough to stick to his gamelan

I think he bottled it and now he’s lost himself and the players that were playing for him

Shame all round

He didn't actually do anything though and his play with the ball was terrible. What changed is we stopped playing crap teams like Wolves, Watford and a disinterested City team and running around doing nothing doesn't do much against better teams.

The Liverpool midfield moves the ball so much better than ours. Keita, Henderson, Elliot, Thiago all much better passers than PEH, Skipp, Dele.

Again this was smoke and mirrors against weak teams early on in the season.

The 3 speedy fuckers created basically nothing. We scored on a goalie error leading to a penalty, a terrible goalie error on a lucky free kick and a great shot by Son. We didn't create chances, we didn't look threatening at all.

It wasn't a decent 4-3-3 in any way.

This may be true but the new horizon can't be a front line with Bergwijn and Moura who can't score in the PL and Son playing out of position in the middle of a 3. Especially when they are supported by a midfield with zero creativity and massive issues progressing the ball.

The team has issues and Kane is an easy target but removing him and not addressing the real issues, which is that the players we have are not close to good enough will do nothing.

A Bergwijn-Son-Moura frontline is complete dogshit. 3 games in which they created nothing and got lucky doesn't change that.

Iggy mate. You’ve performed a completely unnecessary vivisection on a reflection that was designed to demonstrate an attitude… a liberation a freshness created by change

Pulling it apart by saying dier can’t bend a ball around a wall with his left peg misses the point entirely

But that attitude is complete BS and based on something that never existed.

Change for the sake of change doesn't work.

Well you’ve let yourself down there mate by showing a complete lack of comprehension

Shame

Well once we reverted to type … we got the type of results we were always getting

Quoting meaningless soundbites is a further disappointment and offers nothing because the change wasn’t for the sake of change

The change was quite clearly needed … you aren’t to refute that surely ?!

The pity of it is that nuno broke and we turned back frim the change …. So as an experiment we’ll never know if was to be a success

Being a Luddite and subscribing to big E’s theory on failure is a weak look pal

I haven't let myself down or showed a lack of comprehension I have just pointed out that your premise that there was something good happening early on was complete BS.

A change is needed that change isn't Bergwijn-Son-Moura. We don't need to play guys who can't score more. Taking out 20+ goals from our team to add in guys who can't score 5 goals a season doesn't make us better.

We know the "experiment" wasn't going to be a success because never in the history of football has a team had success playing bad players. It has never happened.

I can no more post a link to confirm this than I can about Morrissons being sold.

Its confidential business.

But it's true.

Kane was wanted by man City who wanted a striker. Kane wanted to go. Kane pressed for the move. Levy wanted more money so they bought grealish. Kane come back from being on strike.

I can you lead you water....
So you have absolutely no idea if any offer was actually made, nor what the value of any offer was.
