  1. Levy had to step aside/to the side or else it wouldn't have happened
  2. Levy was likely deeply concerned about Spurs permanently losing our status as one of the bigger clubs in the league
  3. There is more benefit to THFC getting Conte than risk

I'd add a further point to this - with a DoF and a bonafide superstar coach, that's when you back them. You don't back some wet yes man like Nuno. That has bankrupcy written all over it. I was genuinely concerned when we got Nuno in, that this man was going to piss away the Kane money, not on the Beetles, but on S Club 7
