Because we weren't serious in the first place so what's changed...
We were 100% serious!! He was our (Parataci's) number one target.

Seeing that Paratici had only been in situ a matter of days it's been suggested that Conte might have some concerns over our resolve of keeping Kane, that because of COVID no 100% assurances could have been made on players. That maybe Paratici didn't have a full handle on the squad yet, so wasn't in a position to share his views on players.

Now that the stadium is open to full capacity we can be more bullish/definitive with our plans, that Conte can see we were good to our word about keeping Kane and that Paratici can now communicate his thoughts on the current squad and therefore his plans to shape it in the future.

thank you magic P.

The fella's been here 4 months.

FWIW, Emerson has been getting his share of action this summer/fall for Brasil.

That list isn’t impressive and doesn’t change the fact he didn’t address our massive holes, especially upfront.

It is great for Royal that he gets to play for Brazil but he hasn’t shown any quality when playing for us.

If the reports are true that paratici has been working on conte since summer, it may be that he didnt want to commit too many funds to nuno in summer knowing that conte could be round corner and they might be needed in january.

It makes sense to have purchased the Serie A defender of the year now that suits conte's system very well.

Clearing out "deadwood" that others were reluctant/unable to. (IMO, We should've kept Lamela for another season.)

It's November and Kane is still at Spurs. 6 months ago this would've been considered impressive.

Emerson doesn't look overwhelmed by the pace/power of the Premier League, and was one of the most-rated RBs in La Liga.

Very interesting

Apparently Conte will not have his work permit in time to take the press conference, but should have it in time for the actual game.

Sporting directors are more commonly used to face the press in the continental leagues so Fabio stepping in makes sense instead of throwing someone like Mason, who would probably fill the seat for Conte if he can't take the game, in there on short notice.

Trust in Paratici

My Ass

Daily reminder
1) He didn't think we needed a backup ST
2) He lobbied for Nuno and persuaded Levy to get him when Levy didn't want him
He's on the road to redemption.

But for all of you getting over exciting about his role. You have to remember he made 2 major mistakes that have so far defined this season.

He's made a good decision now but you can't just ignore what happened before that.

If that January quote is true that is extremely concerning and show that Paratici is an absolute moron.
Imagine if Paratici Just announce that an army of new players is marching into Tottenham in January - (there might not be) the effect that has on the players that are here that Conte has two months of season with this group before the window opens. Do you think that makes Conte's job harder or easier? Do you think if Conte is asked exactly this question in his 1st presser that he would repeat the line of Paratichi or do you think he will announce the army of new signings?

Could be bluffing for negotiating leverage too tho

Hopefully, although I am not that big a fan of these kind of tactics.

For example, if we go to Inter and start talking about Brozovic are they going to say "oh ya Paratici said they are good enough so lets sell them Brozovic for cheap"?

Just seems like silly, needless games that aren't needed or effective.

I don’t think they’d sell him for a discount, but they could hike the price if they perceive us as desperate.
