Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You know what I love about Conte; he has absolutely zero insecurity. Everything he does is with complete confidence that with the right tools he’ll get us winning.

Compare that to Nuno, who looked a fragile individual from the off worried about how Levy, Paratici, the players and fans all thought of him.

Or Jose, who would divert attention away from his limitations in any way he could because he’s so insecure.

Conte really doesn’t give a fuck how he’s perceived. If we sack him at the end of this season, he’ll get a new job at a top club. Every decision he makes on personnel, transfers and tactics is about winning, it’ll have zero to do with protecting his position

I really believe in this guy. Perhaps more than any Spurs manager in my lifetime.
He's like Mourinho in his pomp in that respect.

But better.

A 'slight upgrade' ? ? ?

Haha!

Love the fact that Conte is pushing hard the fact that whilst the infrastructure and everything around the club is top notch, the on field matters are just not good enough and he bloody knows it. Conte could finally be the guy that unlocks Tottenham’s potential on the pitch. If he can’t do, I honestly don’t think anyone will.
I think Conte and Paratici come as a pair and - if it’s true that Paratici convinced Levy over Nuno - perhaps Levy is taking a step away from micro-managing the transfers etc?

I loved poch but i feel conte is a slight upgrade. Hopefully not another false dawn but feel were in for a golden era providing theres no bullshit antics by levy. Top 4 is achievable this season with carabao and europa conference in the cabinet.
Hmmm - did you see yesterday’s game? I know it’s a long season, but I’d be absolutely wild if we got top 4 when we’re shipping goals so easily (and have been pretty much since the Bayern spanking all those years ago). Plus, the Kane problem needs solving (whether through coaching or replacement) as we’re barely threatening for large portions of games - see most of yesterday’s second half.

A lot of the season left it go, tho.

I think it’s this season to build and coach, and next season to push on and challenge (for big trophies or top 4 or better).

We’ll see.

I've just watched today's press conference.

It's just starting to sink in.

Antonio Conte...... is our manager.

The manager of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

It's a bit surreal.

I think, I hope at least I'm going to enjoy this chapter.

He's not here to make us proud. Here's here to win. You can tell already that he's not going to pull punches. Telling Levy that his players have been poorly trained in no uncertain terms, and that his club looks a bit silly in as much as it's all style and no substance. I just hope Levy accepts the observations and helps get the squad sorted to the best of the clubs ability. It appears he now has someone who can put the cake under the icing, or the present inside the wrapping. We may be going at it slightly arse about face, but it feels like the real deal.

God knows why he joined us. Maybe Paratici.

It's very surreal. The last time I felt like this was probably when Klinsmann signed for us. Someone at the very top of their game who has the pick of any club on the planet.

I guess the Prem is the place to be right now, what with La Liga in a bit of a crisis and without their two talisman players.

Most definitely, let’s hope Levy is finally thinking along these lines and backs him to the hilt. Maybe just maybe this time.

Good.

Glad to see Conte will have almost half the First Team players (9 or 10) to train over the international break including :

Dier
Tanganga
Reguillon
Ndombele
Winks
Dele
Moura
Bergwijn
Gill
and possibly Sessegnon returning from injury

That assumes the following 11 international call ups :

Davies - Wales
Rodon - Wales
Romero - Argentina
Sanchez - Columbia
Doherty - Ireland
Royal - Brazil
Skipp - England u21's
Hojbjerg - Denmark
Lo Celso - Argentina
Son - South Korea
Kane - England
You don’t think Gary will call Winks up after his performance last night???

I thought he was back!!

Absolutely.
In fact, in his latest press conference, he actually suggested that the facilities are probably TOO good. This attitude gives me confidence that he's not going to be overawed by anything - not even the challenge of whipping these players into shape on the pitch.

There are good times just around the corner.

It's great that he immediately recognises the gulf between the off-pitch and on-pitch business of the club.

Everything about us is world-class, except the performances. I really, really hope Conte can be the one to change that.
What he was trying to say was that we have a great stadium, great facilities and a shit team!

Maybe he can salvage a few of them but most will be gone soon and not before time!
