Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Any improvement is a step in the right direction. For me the main reason for an improvement with Winks would to be to put pressure on PEH & Skipp. it's the ripple effect that counts.
Winks at his best isn’t good enough, so my thought process is that invest that time in PEH and Skipp and sell Winks as soon as the window opens.
For me this season is transition and getting cohesion.
Selling as much deadwood in January as we can means a proper summer.

I have zero interest in Winks playing well for the bounce, hoodwinking the management into another chance next season and then reverting to norm.

Get rid, asap, we aren’t reliant on Winks being good for the next 10 games

it's what Conte thinks that matters and if he thinks its worth putting energy into trying to improve Winks then so be it, if he chooses to ignore Winks so be it.

Apparently he has said 'no favourites all equal' so I'd assume that includes Winks in his plans at least on the short term.

If Conte wants to invest in Winks, and not in the transfer market, then he’s not really the manager I was hoping for

I’ve come to the conclusion (purely conjecture) that Nuno was the cheapest hire available whilst Paratici continued to chase Conte.

Everything Paratici has been doing was to get Conte in. We didn’t entertain any of Nuno’s targets. He was a patsy to sit in the dugout whilst we went after our target.

This Spurs squad have cruised along for far too long now. So it’s about time a manager came in and really ruffled some feathers.

The big question is whether these Spurs players can adapt. It’s well known they sulked under Mourinho and Santo, while some even got fed up of the Pochettino era. The focus, surely, has to be on the Spurs players here.

Antonio Conte will do all he can in training to help Tottenham. But it’s vital the players buy into his ways. Otherwise, the club will be back to square one in no time.
Thebootroom

Or get rid of any players that don’t buy in 100%

Fed up with several of them stealing a living

The transfer market isn't open. Apparently he's already handed in his list to Paratici.
Handing in a list on day one isn’t giving them a chance. Rightfully, he wants certain players replaced.

What is the point in giving Winks a chance, Winks playing well but Conte selling him anyway.
If he gives these players a chance, the risk is they buy another half a season, or more before returning to the level they will always be at.

You may feel there is hope and a future for Ben Davies, but as I said, if Conte would rather try and coach him than look for a top LB it’s not really for me.

Maybe Conte thinks he might be able to improve Winks to the point of keeping him on, if not it's no biggy how Conte chooses to invest his management time as long as there are improvements overall.

You can't as a manager say everyone is equal and then shut players out based on their past performances.

If he keeps Winks instead of investing in the squad, it’s not for me.

I’m not interested in what he can do with Winks. If Conte feels they’ve shown enough by January not to sell or pursue anyone I’ll be gutted.

Seems like the day I’ve seen the light, others have decided this squad can be the one

Just looked at the table again and I can’t believe how incredibly shite we have been under Nuno. 9th In the league, played 10 and lost 5 of them ( half our games ) we have the 3rd joint worse goal difference in the league, truly abysmal. If anyone feels bad about Nuno getting the sack, then think again. Pretty certain Conte will turn this around, but the players need to take a hard look at themselves too. The manager wasn’t good enough we all know that, but what a piss poor start.

Even Nuno could see that Winks Doherty etc were shite but preferred Dier and Sanchez to Rodon for some reason

Quite confident that Conte will come to a similar conclusion much quicker

He’s had a good look at Davies now so we’ll see how far that goes

Oh and I agree, there are players in this squad that are just not good enough. Doesn’t matter how fantastic a coach Conte is, you can’t polish a turd. In no particular order, I would like these bang average wasters fucked off ASAP

Sanchez
Dier
Davies
Doherty
Winks
GIO
Dele Ali

None of them are good enough and I reckon Conte will eventually see this.

As I said, the transfer window isn't open, he's apparently already handed in his transfer request list to Paratici.

Now if he wants to keep the dressing room happy in his own way, and that is to have no favourites and to include Winks, I don't see a problem. Winks is part of the team. like it or not.

Amazingly though we’re only 5points off 4th

That’s why I said yesterday that 4th was doable

Top three will be Chavs Dippers and City

That leaves us, who will improve, fighting it out with Utd Spam Leicester so definitely doable
