Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Anyway I don’t think we need him right now. For me I would imagine Conte is looking at the below type of players to fix us given his system.

Deep lying playmaker: Bozovic
Attacker: Vlahovic
Midfielder: Kessie
CB: De Vrij

When United fans clap for winning a throw in, or when a City player slips, you realise just how bad they are.
Their fans are now mad because they are too late for Conte.
When I see United fans in this frame of mind ‘ I say to myself…What a wonderful world.

Did he? I've never seen a valid source for this.

That's what the man himself thought, has there ever been any confirmation Poch chose Lo Celso?

Chronology more than anything (and chatter doing the rounds at the time about Poch giving it the personal touch in our pitch for GLC)....

The chatter about Bruno seemed to bubble up as an afterthought; presumably dependent on whether or not we managed to shift Eriksen in the same window.

Asking price on Gio was sky high so its not like he was pursued as a cheaper option. We spent a fair chunk of the window bartering with Betis.

Everyone was doing backflips about him & Ndombele at the time so all the hindsight whinging about "But Bruno" is BS.

I remember being very excited for Ndombele (although slightly concerned about the fact that he'd had big issues with fitness/motivation in the past) but slightly meh on GLC. I hadn't seen him much in Spain, but had for PSG .. where I really thought he did very little whenever he played.

But yeah, a lot of it is obviously hindsight. We do need the club to start getting a higher % of these big signings correct though, do consistently appear to choose the wrong option.

Absolutely! I've been saying for a number of years now; our whole scouting network needs a major kick up the feck'n arse!
“Or Conte could just work with what he’s got, this isn’t the club for checkbook managers”

Try and remember you agreed with these exact words this time:

For all we know Davies', or Dier's, or Winks' strengths are exactly what Conte is looking for and his system is such that it can cover the majority of their weaknesses.

Higher Fruit and Vegetables, less meat, 22,000 people studied, raises pH of Urine:

In conclusion, a more alkaline diet, higher fruit and vegetable and lower meat intake were related to more alkaline urine with a magnitude similar to intervention studies Urine pH is an indicator of dietary acid-base load, fruit and vegetables and meat intakes: results from the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC)-Norfolk population study - PubMed

Effect of urine pH changed by dietary intervention on uric acid clearance mechanism of pH-dependent excretion of urinary uric acid

High meat after 3 days, urine pH drops to 5.9

High Fruit Veg after 3 days, urine pH rises to 6.7

Effect of urine pH changed by dietary intervention on uric acid clearance mechanism of pH-dependent excretion of urinary uric acid
Urine alkalization facilitates uric acid excretion

Study shows mean pH of Urine drops from 6.7 to 5.5 in people suffering diarrhea

So, do we want a squad near biological urine infection range? or, running like (closer to) alkaline bunnies???

Can’t they just eat steaks and chase chickens around like Rocky?

Bruno was backup for Lo Celso who was Poch's first choice, this was reported by Dan KP at the time (very realiable journo)

Fair.

For me the biggest miss was Tielemans. That one IIRC was definitely Pochettino's choice. He would've had a place under Conte for sure, and is technically streets ahead of our other midfielders.

(aside from Ndombele but we all know how that goes right now..) .

There's only one Rocky...

Mate who was pro boxer, fought for british title, middleweight, used to eat crap whilst working between fights (early pro career), 8 pints most nights, burning off alcohol mostly if he did hit the gym.

Then would tighten his diet for 2 weeks leading up to camp, and on camp be spotless. He broke his hand in his title fight, and another eliminator, IMO, because of that crap diet between camps, he told me he turned Micheal Watson around a few times in sparring with him for the Eubank fight, was there at WHL in his Team (Watsons).

Anyway, diets important!

Ndombele has more talent, but Fernandes actually reminds me a lot of Lampard, he has limitations but is extremely dedicated to his craft and by any means necessary will contribute. Not as good as Lampard was of course, but in the same vein.

If Ndombele had that dedication he'd be incredible, but alas...
I'm skeptical when people talk about the body language of players on the pitch but one thing I do pay attention to is communication. You will often Fernandes pointing out things to teammates. There have been times this season where Spurs looked like a group of strangers who just happened to come together at a match. Skipp and Moura are exceptions in that regard and Lloris as goaltender obviously. The other thing about Fernandes is he does well at seeing the whole field. He has that knack of looking in the right direction as plays develop. A lot of times people get enamored of players who can carry the ball through defenses but having the vision to get rid of the ball and advance it is much more important. I'm impressed with Fernandes.
