Looking at the positions our wing-backs are taking up, is is worth Conte playing a more naturally attacking player at wing-back? Lucas at right wing-back, and then Ndombele in the team as an attacker.

Harsh on Royal perhaps, although maybe he can be a right-sided centreback in the back 3? I'm encouraged by the positions Royal and Reguilon got into today, but less encouraged by their lack of natural attacking ability. Lucas might have scored that header at the back post, or got himself in there for a few more chances. He'd also be able to beat his man and get to the byline for cut-backs into the box for Harry and Son.

Lloris
Royal Romero Davies
Lucas Skipp Hojbjerg Reguilon
Ndombele
Kane Son
Only actually one player different from the current XI (Ndombele for Dier) but looks better in attack, on paper anyway.

I trust conte 100% and I'm certain he will be a success. The squad however is average and that is going to take time to rectify. This won't be a quick process but it's fucking painful watching our style of play especially when you think back to what it used to be.

Royal isnt good enough defender to play there

What players will Conte be able to work with in the next two weeks? (I'm not sure who is away on international duty and who isn't.)

Almost half the First Team players (9 or 10) to train over the international break including :

Dier
Tanganga
Reguillon
Ndombele
Winks
Dele
Moura
Bergwijn
Gill
and possibly Sessegnon returning from injury

(plus GK's Gollini and Austin ..... and some of the u21;s )

The other 12 players I think have been called up for internationals

Davies - Wales
Rodon - Wales
Romero - Argentina
Sanchez - Columbia
Doherty - Ireland
Royal - Brazil
Skipp - England u21's
Hojbjerg - Denmark
Lo Celso - Argentina
Son - South Korea
Kane - England
Lloris - France

I dont think Emerson is good enough to play centre back; if you want to try this team it would be better with Tanganga at RCB. I’m not sure Lucas can play RWB anyway though.

why is mason part of his team? conte surely wouldn't of asked for him so surely thats levy asking for him to be part of it...not good ! let the man do what he needs to do without being a fucking hinderance.

Have every faith in Conte but my worry Is always Levy. We have a favourable set of fixtures coming up and say we win the vast majority, is Levy going to do his usual and think we don’t need the players in Jan as Conte getting the best out of what we got? That’s my worry with this chairman of ours. Any excuse not too spend money, he will grab onto.
The difference is unlike Pochettino, where this problem was most acute, Conte won’t allow for excuses and instead will just fuck off and leave.

In Conte, Levy doesn’t have a pliant coach that he can hide behind. If he feels like he’s being left short, Conte will be clear in assigning blame. There will be no “transfer are difficult” or “we only want players that will improve the team” like with Levy’s previous managers.

Daniel has nowhere to hide while he’s employing Conte.
