You don’t think they gave him an off the record briefing on expectations and transfer plans? Then they publicly posed for pictures with him to say this guy knows us and can be trusted. A message to the fans.

Watch very closely going forward what DiMarzio, Romano, and other Italian journalists report compared to what’s coming out of the standard English media. Any differentiation will be the first signs of behind the scenes turmoil.

Conte and Paratici know they have Levy over the barrel. It’s a miracle we pulled Conte after Pochettino, Mourinho, Mason, two month coaching search, Nuno debacle. They hold all the cards against Levy, they are the only things keeping the fans from Levy’s throat. Levy’s only card is his own shamelessness, which admittedly is quite significant.

Every Spurs fan knows the score, if you can’t make it work with Conte, then you’re even more unfit than most of us think. Conte won’t hesitate to use the media to his advantage like he did tonight, in a very mild fashion by his standards, and 95% of fans will take his side.

The battlelines are drawn and Levy has minuscule margin of error and nowhere to hide. If nothing moves in January, it’s just a matter of time until Conte and Paratici are out and the fans will be in full revolt.

A few bed sheet protest banners ? some mild booing of Levy's name at home matches ?

Nothing worse than that , we could let Conte walk and replace him with Sol Campbell and at least 50,000 morons would still turn up for the next league game and buy a beer & burger for 20 quid or whatever they are charging these days

There are no real consequences for Enic and therefore no real motivation to spend what's needed to fix this mess of a squad

The kind of toxic atmosphere that was at the united game is not nothing to the owners. Conte walking because he wasnt backed then the innevitable decent into the bottom half would be the straw that broke the camels back for a lot of fans imo

The mood was absolutely mutinous before the Nuno sacking and levy knew he needed something big

For me we have maybe 8-9 players of the required quality to get back challenging for top 4.

And we need what a squad of 22-25?

Not sure Conte is going to be around long enough to see us to a trophy, he might if we are very lucky at least steer the ship in the right direction before he leaves.

We've also got to somehow get rid of 70% of the squad

4 players for the starting XI is needed immediately: LCB, a creative CM, another prolific attacker either CF or right sided attacker, then another signing for either improving DM, CB, WB, CF, RW depended on availability. Squad depth would take a lower priority.

It’s on the owners. No one else. We should have sold Kane. Son is nowhere near the player he was.

Conte won’t do anything here because he won’t get the players he needs, he will then create trouble and we will be back to square one.

We need a Potter or similar project manager, not another head coach who demands money and sticks to a rigid system.

Also, Conte’s European record is abysmal (look it up).

But look at how many players we have signed since Poch left. We've made changes, many changes, but as usual we keep buying duds. The level of this squad is shocking and we keep buying players who cannot perform even with Paratici here now.

He didn’t want to join us. He was desperate for the Man Utd job and when he realised they wanted a long term project, it dawned on him that he then had no other options.

I want a manager who wants to be here without demands for loads of new players just for his ego when in reality, Conte will be gone by this time next year. Again, quote me on that.

Yeah it’s actually far more pressure for Levy to have Conte as manager than Nuno. We may be like why the fuck would you hire Nuno but really more of the blame will just inevitably fall on the manager and then Levy gets to look like the good guy for firing him.

With Conte, who as I posted the other day averages 87 points per top flight season and has won 5 of the last 7 available league titles, any failure falls squarely on Levy and nowhere else. At least with Mourinho, Levy was slightly able to avoid responsibility because Mourinho was just so washed up.

I think 2 or 3 really good players that the manager actually wants will make a huge difference, we are desperately in need of some winners/leaders that can drag the rest along with them.

Now is the time to back him, this is the guy to put your money behind. Can’t be another what if
