Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This is the thing.... Everything's been blown wide open now.....Fans back in the stadium.... Accounts show a secure platform even if we did lose a bundle of dosh thanks to covid.... Despite a false start to the season we have a top manager.... Our league finish is perfectly salvageable and we're still in THREE cups....... We're at a crossroads with the potential for a bright new era.... It's up to us as a club to embrace it.

If peeps wanna call that "nowhere left to hide for Levy" then so be it....

Between January and the summer window, everyone will get their answers and one way or another the psychological torture of the last few years fan bickering will be over soon one way or another.... The punchline is coming.

In the meantime; all that matters for the next 2 months is grinding out points in the league.

......It's entirely pointless peeps pissing and moaning about the squad and floating all the tired, cliched conspiracies and doubtery.
Airfixx on damage control

Conte speaking out against the regime is music to my ears. Straight from the horses mouth.

Tell me where touched you.
I have 0 bias against Conte, but at the same time I'm not a spurs supporter so I can say things objectively.

Example spurs having one of the best stadiums in the world, or playing beautiful football under Poch Especiallyin 2016 and 2017.

At the same time I have no love for Conte and I'll evaluate his pros and cons as a manager. I said it from the start Levy and Conte will never work

Well there are no signs of it not working yet. We already knew the second team is rubbish, now he has found it out too. We will see what happens next.

This exactly. I've been ambivalent about the Levy thing, for reasons expressed by many on here before, but after the vociferous revolt during united, Levy has nowhere else to go. For the future of our club, tonight doesn't matter as much as Conte's words and the forthcoming window, and now much more this one than the summer one.
This really is a defining point.
Never wanted us to lose, but, along with a United mate, we bot ha greed before that the loser of the match would end up being the winner long term. When we were 3 down v Liverpool with AVB, I thought we're gonna lose anyway, only way we're guaranteed a new direction is to lose by 5. we did and we got one.

This competition, 'a trophy that you get laughed at for being in, and laughed at for winning, may well be our saving grace for telling a no nonsense, world class, says it as it is, manager that a clear out is needed NOW.
Watching City last night, who tactically we were the equal of for many years under Poch, despite their spending and reserves, and the inability of most of our players to be able to control, pass and move tonight was frightening as it was enlightening.

So, sanguine,
not measuring lows after Paco, Zagreb,
as many have said, we're not good enough to compete with drop downs from Europa. Best we don't get through.
Many have derided Poch for not winning during those 2 good years but it helped Conte / Chelsea and Leicester from being out of Europe (we even knocked Leicester out of the FA cup to help them) and played Chelsea I think just after playing Juve away; Conte had a whole week to train them the whole year.

Next two months is crucial. Levy has nowhere to go now except do what Conte wants. His shock reaction after United and what it must have took to get him in, plus Paratricis words, means he has to.
Spot on, perfect addition to everything I said. Totally agree that this might actually be a blessing in disguise in the long run. A needed kick in the ass for everyone.

As an example, probably the most important game of Conte's career with a star studded lineup a must win game to secure qualification which is desperately needed for Inter's finances and Conte looked absolutely clueless

. Fans are gonna have to be patient and cross our fingers in the hope Levy has finally realised serious and competent investment is needed.
I think that following United reaction, tonight, our fans have shown there's no more patiently waiting and crossing fingers; it's up to Levy to deliver for a proven world class manager that we've got (did well to get, but to waste would be not forgiven). It's the board who now have to act.

What's going to happen? Conte isn't the man for a long rebuild.

Levy isn't going to spend big, Conte isn't going to tolerate that as he's been a short term appointment throughout his career.

Potter would be the right choice just not the crowd pleasing choice, that's my honest opinion

I think he fecked up big style tonight. He's only been here 5 minutes and he should have not made so many changes. He seems to be in too much of a hurry.
I actually agree with this, that he fucked up. Mura, this for them was the game of their lives. That’s the problem in this competition, we were CL finalists not long ago, you cant motivate against ashit nobody team but they are hyper motivated against you. I would have played the youth team throughout in this comp that way it is expected to lose and it doesnt matter, and of course the comp does not matter it can only drag you down.

In the short term if even Conte cant get this team to win, then Levy might finally be convinced that the players are rubbish and there will be a clearout. That in itself is a big plus.

Potter wasn’t going to leave midseason so it’s really a moot point.

Much rather take the chance with Conte. If it doesn’t work, we can sign Potter whenever Conte leaves. He’s going to be around.

Not living in fans dreamland doesn't make me a troll. Conte is a fans appointment so obviously there's going to huge optimism but it's just a sign of a short sighted sporting project.

Barcelona and Liverpool don't go for the big name managers for a reason. It's about long term stability and building a project. Clubs like Chelsea and PSG where you have unlimited money go for the Contes of the footballing world as they'll spend.

Tottenham historically has never been that club, Levy isn't going to turn a new leaf and become Roman Abramovic, a project is needed and Potter would have been the one.

A reliance on youth and clearing the dead weight with an up and coming manager would have set the course straight

So Klopp wasn’t a big name manager for Liverpool?

Righto

Right; so that's why we lost tonight?

Why are you even here? Is this some kind of sad coping mechanism cos Barca are falling apart and you're having to fanboy for Messi at a dirty petro-club now?

Oh yea and look at how good things are turning out at Barcelona. One of the the biggest clubs in the world and and getting their butts whipped by Benfica. After pep, theyve just gone more and more downhill.
