Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

And that wouldn't be a lie.

Truth be told, the ones that would turn on him aren't worth keeping anyway.

They are the same ones that turn on every manager we get, fuck them.

We are carrying around too much dead weight at this club because Levy has long overrated the players we have.

Time to listen to Conte and get some players through the door that can do the job and take this club to another level.

not disputing we have deadweight that we should get rid of but there is a way to do it, and I'm concerned this way is not a sensible way.

I'm not worried about their feelings. I'm worried that the players stop playing for him at all and we lose games heavily and his position becomes untenable. We cannot replace every player. At least not in one go. And we aren't even in December yet, let alone January.
Even under Mourinho until the very end, not all the players stopped playing for him. There are players who being dragged down by the dross of teammates, who want to protect their career and reputation.

Unlike Mourinho who came here after all the lowest point of his career, Conte came here right after he ended Juventus dominance. If something smell fuck up, everyone and their dogs know it's the players. This is the 4th manager in a calendar year. Unless it's a Gooner, nobody can be this blind.

It isn’t about what we should be doing right now til January

It’s about everything we have done in the past few years to get to this point

Mistake after mistake after mistake

To have a squad this inept is embarrassing and shameful

Right, so it doesn't matter what we do to rectify things.... A reported 400m on trfs and wages; a new world class manager, a new DOF and a scouting revamp underway..... We should just cling to the negative aspects of what came before and relentlessly preach doom, gloom and cynicism....? The same thing that you and your sneering little cabal have been doing even when things were looking good under Poch and presumably before that too?

All this "20 years of zero progress", "It's all shit without a trophy" schtick is bollocks..... It's sad that you gain so little enjoyment out of supporting the club(*).

(*Yeh this is a bit of a rant, but it's a shame cos - although there's no hope for some of the bitter assholes here - when you lighten up a bit you're actually good to share a bit of banter with, but you're in a thoroughly relentless, wearing doom-groove right now.... )

I ask you again....... If Conte leaves tomorrow, what could we have done to change that? Bearing in mind he was cool to sign a contract a few weeks ago? .....You wouldn't just see that as being a bit fickle on his part? ....Maybe even a little lacking in research on his part too?

Personally, I think he's just trying to assert leverage to ensure he get what he wants from Levy in January... Surely you should embrace that given what you profess to want in terms of spending?

If Conte leaves this club before any of Winks, Dele, Davies, Sanchez, Doherty, Bergwijn and the rest of the shit in that squad Levy should be dragged out behind him.

It's time somebody was bluntly open about these shit players and the need to get them the fuck out of this club at any cost. Luckily Conte has a history of being very honest about his players. I hope he stays true to that here.

“After three weeks I am starting to understand the situation. It is not simple. At this moment the level at Tottenham is not so high.”

Very telling statement from Conte and damning of the players.

Mourinho's previous statement that the players aren't tough and don't like the 'rough stuff' may go some way to explaining why we perform badly against Sunday league teams.

My view is that the answer is simple. We didn't replace Eriksen - He was always our best player. We have only looked good since when Kane has dropped back and played as our creative midfielder.

Lo Celso, Ndombele are wimps who are not suited to the league. We have nobody to link the midfield to the attack and our recruitment teams obsession with continuously buying wingers despite our coaches preferring wings backs shows there is a disconnection from tactics and recruitment.

In the short term - Harry Kane needs to play as our number 10.

it is refreshing to hear a manager say it how it is but also shows you how bad things are currently at spurs when the guy whos just been employed (who was reluctant to join in the first place and possibly only did so because of the salary offered) basically comes out and says the players are shite.

I dont think his heart is in this at all. Many people think hes too big for spurs and it seems he also thinks that too. Coupled with an 18 month contract and the fact he wont be given money to buy any tom dick or harry, i cant see this ending well. The wrong man bringing conte to spurs. I guarantee you he was only hired simply to boost the clubs profile. He’s another money bags manager, with a temperament and a habit of simply walking away when hes fooked with. A fantastic manager, but one that has never worked at a club like spurs.

Watch things sour if the results go bad and his reputation is questioned. Its all going to end in tears.

But you all hounded out Poch, Jose and then Nuno.

It’s on the owners. No one else. We should have sold Kane. Son is nowhere near the player he was.

Conte won’t do anything here because he won’t get the players he needs, he will then create trouble and we will be back to square one.

We need a Potter or similar project manager, not another head coach who demands money and sticks to a rigid system.

Also, Conte’s European record is abysmal (look it up).
Totally agree! He has always moaned about money and not getting players. Instead of getting on and working with the players he usually moans about lack of investment. Surely a manager of his calibre should be able to put a team team together and style of play to beat NS?
Again I say why play 5 defenders against NS?
Especially when you know that the WBs are not good enough. One just back from injury. The play Dav at LCB with jasphet at RCB. Then switches him to LB. Why not start him at LCB and play Dav in his favoured RCB role. To compound he takes off Rodon who was better than the rest instead of Dav.
Also why play dele as Left forward his never played there? Everyone criticised Nuno for playing on the right? Surely we could have dropped a defender put dele in behind Kane and may be played Gil and moura?
I’m not having this shit that we need to invest £100Ms to beat the likes of NS. Ffs Nuno beat them 5-1.
Conte should not be above criticism.
Yea he needs time but surely he could improve us in some area without splashing the cash. Who we goons buy in jan that is magically going to improve is. He needs to start earning his corn and get the team/ squad to play better.
We need to be on the front foot against teams like NS yet we were so deep even with 11 bcos we play back 3. Not sure we are gonna be a front foot team. Look at the Everton gane where we created nothing and had no real ambition to win the gane. They have been awful and we’re without key players. We just let them attack us. Since they have reverted to type. Bit more ambition and we would have won that game.
Conte has a free hit this season so he should use it and just say to the players go for it. In the background he can improve their fitness and motivation whilst looking at next season to build.

I dunno, I think he knew what he was getting in to, and understood the scale of the challenge. The moment he may regret it is if/when he doesn't get the backing he was promised to build an actually competent side here.

That'll be the crunch time. It was pretty obvious this wasn't going to be an overnight transformation, the rot in this squad goes far too deep for a new manager to come in mid-season and make everything great. Fans are gonna have to be patient and cross our fingers in the hope Levy has finally realised serious and competent investment is needed.
Was he promised anything other than reuse money from sales? Also didn’t he say when he joined that spurs are not like chavs or citeh?
