I'm amazed they aren't all 300lbs over there. I sometimes watch Diners, Drive-ins and Drive-by's or whatever the fuck that show is called. The amount of calories in even their average meal is frightening. They layer everything with cheese, sauces, creams then it's all fried, barbecued in calorific marinades and sauces.

The portion sizes dwarf anything you see here. It's like every meal is about 1800 calories or they don't feel like it counts.

I love that show. You can understand why obesity is rife, but man the food looks incredible, and the level of care, attention to detail and preparation that goes into what looks like humble food on the plate is incredible in some of those places. It's Michelin star process for comfort style food.

I think Christopher Nkunku is worth putting on our wish list. The kid is technically very good, can play a number of forward positions - so can play as striker, Flase 9, wide forward and behind a striker - and also looks like he's becoming a very productive player in terms of finishing and creating.

No thanks. But consider me sold if there's a player named Christopher Kunku.

Tottenham sold Kyle Walker to Man City for £45 million, rising to £50 million, and many thought it was good business....until Spurs invested £25m for Aurier and then £23m for Emerson. The jury is still out on Emerson but selling Walker was not good business (although he did insist on joining Man City).
What a bit of business it would’ve been to have let Rose go with him

But we stood firm …. Hindsight right

How the fuck he used a calculator to come up with a squad that still has Sessegnon and Ndombele in it and still had ENIC spending that kind of money does not compute.
Sessegnon is unlikely to leave anytime soon as he's one of our only HG players (we're already struggling to meet criteria).
Ndombele imo should stay as he's our best midfielder, and I don't see any club who would be willing to pay his wages, nor any replacements who are as creative. Obviously I share your frustrations about his work rate, but if Conte can't improve that no one can.

There's 333 million people in the US.
There's currently an obesity rate of 36% so aprox 119m of them are overweight. So there's more people in America that are obese than all of the UK combined.
BUT there are conversely, 213m that are healthy weight.
I dunno what your experience is of being in the US but I've done a fair bit of travelling and their restaurants are no worse than those in this country

And that's the problem with using a TV show to form an opinion. Most Americans eat home cooked meals, like you and me. They don't eat in gut buster restaurants every day.
I've been taken out by Americans in America an London and watched them struggle to eat the portions served up, especially if they've been in London all week eating out with clients. They usually look awful by then too.

It's not a true representation of day to day life watching TV like that.

73% of Adults in the US are obese (42%) or overweight. A small point but 213m healthy is lower if you consider overweight unhealthy. They may be a little overweight, may be a lot but not yet obese.

OECD had the US as the most obese within their 37 countries, which is probably where the "myth" that they are most obese. Misunderstanding rather than wrong.

A lot of the stats are based purely off BMI which doesn't account for muscle.
That puts many elite athletes and generally muscular folks as obese when they may in fact have a very low body fat %

Like I've said many times before - stats are really useful, until you question the source. And then they're not.
