He hasnt played 55 games as a central striker has he? ,Are they counting yesterday as central striker?

Surely we havent seen him play centrally for 55 league games though. Just seems incorrect especially as Llorente would play centrally when we did have him and kane was injured. Probably includes all the cups and what not.

To be fair, im not sure. You may be right.
Their stats are pretty reliable thou.

Transfermarkt has Son at 60 goal contributions (37 goals and 23 assists) in 74 apps across all competitions when he's played at CF.

This is even more impressive given none of those are penalties and he only started in 61 of those games.

So he has 60 non penalty goal contributions in 61 starts / 74 apps.

That's pretty insane if you think about it.

Definitely seems a little wrong.

For eg 18/19 they think Son played 16 games as a striker? Kane started 27 games, surely son wouldnt have played centrally as well in those games and Llorente started 6 games too. That leaves 5 games where we didnt have a striker. He might have moved around centrally to help the striker but he was definitely not the lead striker in 16 games.

While obviously son is great and all that, theres numbers just seem a bit off. And if they mean hes played behind the striker in a CF position then now we have two players who are better at as a 10 instead of 9.

Playing as a 4-4-2 with two CFs? That's my guess.

Maybe. Dont think there were many games where its just Son upfront and everyones behind him. Thats why that 55 'central striker' thing looks a bit dodgy.
We've played with 2 CFs a lot...

Kane / Son
Son / Lucas
Son / Llorente

etc.

Whether it be 2 or just 1 up top, a CF is still a CF though...

They didn't say 'lone striker.'

Did say central striker. In any case, most of his 'striker' games came as a support striker anyway with either Kane or Llorente as the main one up top. Definitely not 55 games where he led the line.

Fair point but it's still very impressive nevertheless. 60 non penalty goal contributions in 61 starts is significantly better than what he normally does at LW. Also the reason why I think we should play him up top in a front 2.

I remember when he'd charge at the opposition when they had possession. Pressing putting in slide tackles. There's no edge to him in a spurs shirt anymore. There's a difference between genuine effort and whinging acting like you care. And if he can't do it anymore then it shows he is declining physically and people are right about him.
Those red cards he got as a result of those charges and Gomes’ leg fracture seem to be the things that gave rise to a zonal marking and defending as opposed to a more physical game. He seems to be pressing more under Conte. When you press and cover zones, you force errors which leads to turn overs in possession as often as Skipp like challenges, though those charges are much more pleasing to watch

He got reds for losing his rag; such as when he kicked rudiger and pushed that Swansea fella; not from trying to tackle..... IIRC; even the challenge on Gomez was a reaction to not getting a decision moments before.

I agree with this, I would say it's not really a lack of effort from Harry, but more a lack of energy and/or pace. This seems to slowly be the player Kane is becoming now, with a lot less pressing (he still does at times though).. but it stands out compared to others around him such as Lucas.

You can still be a pressing team without every player being at the same level in regards to pressing. You're obviously never going to get that with Kane, and certainly not to the same extent as players like Moura and Bergwijn. But if he's doing his bit to the best of his ability, while also giving the team other qualities when he's in form, then I'm perfectly okay with that. We all like Moura and his work-rate and attitude can never be questioned. But if we had 11 Lucas Moura's in our side we'd get nowhere fast.

I don't see how anyone can say Harry hasn't at least been trying these last few games. He still looks sluggish and a bit off the pace at times but hopefully that sharpness will return the moment he's playing with more confidence and belief. But I think it's clear to see his attitude under Conte has been better than it was.

Think the poster was talking about Kane and not Son.
