Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'd take Wijnaldum on loan but why on earth would they loan him out in the first place, Wijnaldum was the one player that Poch requested to sign this summer

I’d take him, at least he has PL experience so shouldn’t take to long to settle. I’ve heard Woolwich are interested in him though.
Not sure what’s gone on with him though. As you say he was someone that Poch wanted and yet he’s hardly played. I think I read he’d only made 7 league starts since his move so isn’t a happy bunny.

I don't want Kessie or Mckennie I've watched both closely. They are not the massive upgrade some think. Can we try a few technically gifted and astute players. We need a prototype Modric style footballer. And a Centerforward.

I definitely think Kessie, whilst not being the next Marcus Senna, would be an upgrade on PEH, both as a 6 and as a footballer.

I think the system Milan/Pioli are using is asking a fuck of a lot of him, it's bit reminiscent of the Poch 4231 but with a CF that walks everywhere.

For what it's worth, I also like Bennacer. I think both would be upgrades on PEH.

Huge problems in central midfield, not just in who we have, but also in terms of transfer market.

With Conte in charge, but no guarantee he will stay for the long term, this is a perfect opportunity to recruit young/prime talent we wouldn't have been able to do otherwise. Therefore, I would prefer it if we did not buy anyone 28 or older.

Brozovic is 29 and about to sign a new deal with Inter, while Wijnaldum is 31 (and maybe declined... why isn't he starting for PSG?).
Kessie is younger aged 24, but he has reportedly been mediocre this year, and just got bossed by a Liverpool kid.

So who is a star midfielder we can buy to do what Ndombele/GLC were meant to?
Is Milinkovic Savic within our budget? Bellingham is unrealistic. Take the risk on Ajax wondered Gravenberch?

Sky Sports News reporting that Wijnaldum is available for loan. What do you guys think?

If you’re playing a 343 he brings a good blend of qualities to a 2 man CM, but he isn’t the creative force people have really wanted.

Personally I’d be all over it.

Does he? He played in a cm3 at Liverpool (and at Newcastle I think). One of the reasons he’s not getting game time is Poch plays a CM2 at PSG, no?

If I’m honest the only player I think we should be looking at to fill CM role is Kalvin Phillips. He fits the bill perfectly he can pass through and over teams, he is comfortable on the ball and he can defend. He would slot perfectly into our system, he would also be able to slot into the back 3 to make it a 4 if the wing backs are out of position. We’ve all seen how comfortable he is in the CB position keeping HK very quiet at the Lane recently. An offer of Winks plus £25m is a good offer for him I think.

I think the next 6 months could be the time to try if we are genuinely interested..... While the other EPL cunts are caught up trying to sign Rice and Bellingham.
