No it isn't....

Show me one post that says we'll get players for "half-price".

You can't; because that's simply a MASSIVE falsehood on your part.

Read the posts above talking about us getting rinsed if we don't say we have no money.

Which is basically true (although more accurately portrayed by my post above)...... Most clubs play down their intentions..... Even Pep acts like a pauper when it comes to talk of the trf window.

Most clubs don't down play their intentions. Pep "acted" like a Pauper last summer when they ended up not buying anyone for the striker position that he was talking about.

Same thing here we talk about not spending because we don't. Not because it is some 3d chess used to fool people into thinking we aren't spending.

There IS always money available though.....

We spent this summer.
We spent last summer.
We spent the summer before that.

(On last count; that amountes to about 16 players incoming!)

We barely spent this summer and didn't come close to spending what we needed.

Last summer we didn't come close to spending what we needed.

Even the summer where we bought no-one; there was money made available. We just frittered said window away hankering for players that weren't available to us.

Even whilst the stadium was being built we still spent money.

Nope

I think they would have given him the space and then stood there as he dribbled right into defenders in a packed space.

Going out to mark him would have been terrible as that is how he pulls defenders out. He wasn’t going to dribble past Watford 9 men in the box.
He doesn't have to dribble past 9 he has to dribble past 1 or 2 and draw fouls in dangerous areas, win penalties or get in better positions than Emerson which opens up easier crossing opportunities.

He is quite obviously way more of an attacking threat than Emerson.

I think it's not so much Conte doesn't like Emerson (as he always plays) but more that he doesn't like Doherty and would prefer someone to start ahead of Emerson seeing as Emerson is new to the league and obviously needs to toughen up.

I can't see much happening in the January window but the negotiations now will also start for the targets for the summer window. So Conte will have his ideas and sound them all out now and see what can be done hopefully depending on priorities and circumstances.

I'm not usually a fan of Levy in general but think that even he knows what he has in Conte and still has Nuno and Jose fresh in his mind, so am expecting Levy to back him. Backing Conte is also going to appeal to Levy because of what he has already achieved with the team, so going forward Conte isn't going to need to break the bank.

Also, Levy must know his reputation was damaged with the new manager saga this summer and if he fucks Conte off, he'll be worse than before in terms of attracting a new decent one.

Conte can go anytime he wants with his reputation intact. He's got the record for the unbeaten run of a new manager at Spurs and everybody knows Levy's rep.

Ideally Ndombele gets sold sharpish which will (with a miracle) generate some cash but also save some in terms of the remainder of his contract not having to be paid. He can play but he doesn't, so fuck him. The amount of managers he's been through proves it. I can see him going to Roma what with the Paraticci connection and Jose did seem to like him, but more the Paraticci connection will be beneficial in moving him on.

Also, his fee shows that Levy can splash the cash and is willing. So if Conte says he can turn someone into a rwb for half of what Ndombele cost, why wouldn't Levy pony up?

Tldnr: Hopefully, we can get rid of Doherty and Ndombele, (as a bonus Dele might land us some cash) and then get two or three in that Conte can work with immediately and also warm up a few negotiations for the summer.

Then why doesn't he just get more out of Royale or convert Bergwijn and save us the money?
Surely that would be the sensible approach, no? Get the coaches working with the players we have. It’s often said conte improves players well if that is the case work with reg , berg , Doh or whoever we have that can play rwb if conte is gonna stick with this formation. Why do link £20M on player that you will still have to coach and work on to play that role. Doesn’t make sense. Money is tight every where and we have pressing need to find a powerful midfielder and a creative player.

When Watford has 9 guys in the box and he is unable to make a simple pass yes he has to dribble past that many guys to have a chance at creating anything.

He is more of an attacking threat than Emerson but that isn't good enough, we need players that are better than both of them.

Kieran Trippier and Premier League calling. Diego Simeone confirms: “Trippier now has to decide if he wants to leave or not. We’ll move after his decision”

#Atleti Newcastle are pushing to complete the deal as soon as possible. Let’s see if Chelsea will try to jump into it.

I repeat:

Show me one post that says we'll get players for "half-price".

You can't; because that's simply a MASSIVE falsehood on your part.....

You stretched the truth past the point that it became a lie and now you can't back-up the extent of the assertions you made.

Take the L and move along.

Most clubs don't down play their intentions. Pep "acted" like a Pauper last summer when they ended up not buying anyone for the striker position that he was talking about.

Last summer we didn't come close to spending what we needed.

You seem confused... You are bouncing between falsely claiming that we don't spend any money to making un-quantified complaints about how much you think we should have spent.

Errrm.... Yep.

(Right about now; isn't it normal for you to be spamming everyone with kisses, Iggy-pops? .....Why is this not happening? ....Are you not well? )

Henderson the keeper - Golini is a fraud

Griezman is miles better than Moura at 10
Oh, I don't disagree that Gollini is pants but we won't be cutting that loan move short - we will almost definitely not be exercising the option to buy though (thank god).

Griezmann would be fantastic short term but I was shocked to find out he's 30 already! (31 in March) It only feels like yesterday he was a young upstart. I wonder if the lack of potential sell-on value would be a dealbreaker there.

we give ourselves a good crack at getting top 4.. and with that comes the lure & finances of Champions League football where the pool of players available to us dramatically increases in quality
Agreed with everything else.
But it is time to put that myth on a rest. Very little truth in it.

Look at the kind of players Woolwich and ManU have got without CL places. And also to some extent it is true for Leicester and Wet Spam.

Also it is widely reported that our financial standing is very good and our salary fund low.

I really feel that this "we are in CL and it will make us lot more attractive" thing is way way less important than some make it out to be.
