Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I would respect Conte for walking if he isn't backed as he should be. He'd be the only manager with balls to stand up to the board and show them that they are bleeding this club dry. He did it with Inter when they didn't show the ambition he had, and he won't be afraid to do it again.

But it won't make Levy or Lewis change. They'll still blame the managers, agents and other clubs rather than themselves.

Fucking disgusted by the latest from Ally gold. 100% it’s true as well. I will honestly boycott the club forever if Conte walks
I would actually love to see a fan boycott. Thats where it would hurt Levy and co most. If fans just didnt show up. I know it wont happen, as for some people its their life and only way of socialising, which I 100% respect.

But if for a month or so, no or little fans attend the matches, Levy would really struggle.

They won't change, but with enough of a sustained backlash, they might look to sell up.

Can't see them selling up. Spurs is a cashcow for them. NFL games, music events, boxing and rugby events. As well as charging the highest season ticket prices in the league. They are raking it in.

The news of American investment excited me, but it's all gone quiet now. I really don't understand how the 9th richest team in the world can be struggling for cash. It's such a tedious, lazy and boring excuse now.

Well who else was hunting him down?

Maybe he is someone who enjoys being in football, there are many like it.

or maybe he was bullshitted by Levy and the Italian dud Parawanki.

Already we've gone from talk of De Ligt, Vlahovic and De Vrij coming in January down to Traore and a pre-contract move for a Man Ure outcast. Parawanki's signings so far have been worful, massively unsuited to the EPL.
The club has invested in the stadium. Maybe Levy has a "short arm" (that is, he struggles to take the money from his wallet, he's stingy) but having a competitive team is important. Otherwise he'd be crazy (Levy)

Look if you think the only thing our squad is missing is a backup striker then fair enough. I don't agree. We made such hard work of the Conference League which we should have gone through at a canter, the Morcambe match was horrific. We only started competing last night when Chelsea realised the tie was done and dusted and eased off. Our strongest 11 is decent but not great. Once we start losing players to injury or need a rotation then things fall apart.

We have a fantastic manager, he needs backed. He isn't here to coast towards retirement, he's here to win.
you clearly don't understand the sense of my post
I said that in this moment to get good players is impossible. a back up striker (even on loan) is what we need to face the rest of the season and fight for the 4 th place (thanks to conte, with nuno we would have fight for the 7th)
with that in our hands we will get some appeal for good signigns in the summer.
good players want to play UCL

They are always looking to sell. If there’s no buyers, nothing changes there

No one sells a successful business. It's a guaranteed money maker for decades at the moment. See below.

This is and has been the problem for a while, too good an asset, built on relatively small upfront cash. But that will soon become bad for business if there is constant protest, visual and audible distain etc.
I don't buy the investment or how it can work. If ENIC/Levy sell any share of the business, they pocket that money. Who is going to buy 10-20% of THFC then 100% front a cash injection on the pitch?
It makes no sense.

I understand your point but I don't agree. Our squad is paper thin on quality, we're already missing Romero, Son, Dier, Reggy. We're not going to take Top 4 relying on taking no further injury hits, or even suspensions. If Davies goes down, we have no left footed CB. Our backup GK is dire. Even our first choice midfield has no real quality.

Conte is good, and I have no doubt as his coaching starts seeping through to the team they'll get better - but they have their natural limits. I'm usually optimistic, but I just can't see how we're going to challenge for Europe this season without additions this month.

He's spent money recently. Just really, really badly. Ndombele, the argies, etc. It's worrying how players are leaving out of contract tho. Erickson, Jan maybe Hugo.

It will be difficult for the club to do much business this window surely, but if there's not much done in the summer with this window also being prep for that. Fuck it, gonna be the under 23's or Orient for me next season.

Conte is probably on a two year deal to see if it's worth him staying longer, without backing why would he? It's weird that he says it's a long job (more than a few windows rebuild) but only planning on staying 18 months.

We buy players with lower wages (bar TND) so the package is actually smaller than what our rivals do.

We wanted Fernandes for instance but by the time you throw in wages, agent fee, signing on bonus etc I bet we were nowhere near it. We wanted Martial, same story, close with the fee, nowhere near it with the package.

We go for low package prices and we get fucking donkies over and over

They are always looking to sell.

There's no way on earth they'd have been looking to sell before the stadium was completed.......

ENIC is an investment company; they wouldn't looking to cash in on their investment until such time that their project had reached a stage of maximum potential yield.

They won't be actively looking to sell for the time being either. There is nominal profit for them thus far from the stadium itself (in simple terms the bank owns most of the bricks and mortar). Virtually none of the stadium debt has been paid off yet.... Every year of repayment = their profit on the sale increases.

Meanwhile, their broader project(*) around Tottenham is still in it's relatively early stages.

(*Which was announced the same time as the stadium build, so that today's article citing further residential investment is being made should come as no genuine suprise..... In fact IIRC a pledge regarding development ofdthe surrounding ares - inc. these flats - was part of us being granted planning permission in the first place!)

......Perhaps in time they look to cash in and sell Spurs to complete this broader venture, but Lewis is fairly set for capital in the medium term thanks to his personal fortune.

TLDR?

To my mind the earliest sale of club scenario is likely to spring from the eventuality that he dies and his daughter thinks "fuck it....... I'll just liquidate my estate."

(As for those that out too much stock in The Boogie Man; Levy holds relatively little influence over any of this.)

Conte thought Gollini had a good game because in the first leg we lost 2-0 and only 1-0 last night.

Please tell me he isn't serious with this

From Football Londo

Do you understand the frustration from supporters about Hugo Lloris not starting as it is such an important game?

But I don’t know about this. I repeat: I made this decision and I think that Gollini played a good game. In the first game we lost 2-0, today we lost only 1-0. I think that we have to try to think about situations that are much more important than this. Believe me.
