I understand you don't like Paratici, but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve credit for what he did at Juve. And, again, I am aware of some of the mess he left behind at Juve. And that Juve is a big club not just in Italia but in the world so they do have an advantage.
However, after he left Juve they have struggled even to; so not even a club like Juve are guaranteed success. But there is no doubt that he did a very good job for them.
And I did not say that his success at Juve would translate into success at Spurs. But look at head coaches in the at all the top EPL clubs: all non-British (ok, West Ham have Moyes but I don't consider WH as a top club really). And most(not all) of their top players are also non-British.
Bottom line is to give him at least a full season to prove himself. I am not totally convinced about him either but I am ready to give him some time to prove himself.
Regarding Emerson: I remember that Spurs were after Tomiyasu for almost the entire transfer window...but then all of a sudden shifted to Emerson after Nuno joined Spurs. Just as you are speculating I am now bringing up another speculation....
