In terms of disappointment Soldado is really up there. I truly thought he was going to bang them in but he couldn't buy a goal.

Soldado scored in his first 2 games.

A goal or assist every 157 minutes - that's better than Keven De Bryne.

Can we get him back??

I think the 500 day self imposed transfer embargo will take some beating . Little bit of ambition then & im sure we’d be in a better place … mind you with our transfer staff who knows .

It’s always a case of Jam tomorrow “ the next window , Jan is hard … we tried , “ etc

There’s too many crap purchases to mention , remember Stamboli or whatever he was called , Noel Paramount pictures , Bentley . Tanguy is up there though , what a stupid man-child

Half a decade of duds absolute incompetence.
The Bale money largely wasted except Erikson.
Even Lamela was in today's money a £60 million purchase and justified so little but occasional grit.
The club's buying philosophy is mainly led by sell on, prospects , contract run downs which constantly puts us at a disadvantage.

Toss Santos

Faaaarking hell

What’s the criteria? Worst player? Probably Gilberto with Nkoudo up there.
Dumb conduct? Rasiak, Nelson and so many more.

Most transfers during Levy’s era were bad tbf

It depends on how one defines "worst transfer".
Is it based on who was plainly the worst player or based on the transfer-free to performance ratio?
If it is the latter I'd say Ndombele. Then a close race between Rebrov, Bentley, Soldado, Janssen and Lo Celso.
Sissoko, Sanchez and Aurier were both at least regulars and Sissoko always had a good attitude, despite of all the bashing he got from the fans. `And much more was expected from Sanchez.

High expectation upon arrival:
Matt Doherty
Jack Clarke
Gedson Fernandes
Clinton N’jie
Georges-Kévin Nkoudou
Didier Zakora
John Bostock
Cristian Ceballos
Gio dos Santos
Helder Postiga
Stephane Dalmat
Andy Reid
Adel Taarabt

Other candidates:
Andy Booth
Diego Bortolozzo
Kazuyuki Toda
Noe Pamarot
Edson
Dilesvski,
Rodrigo Defendi
Ricardo Rocha
Gilberto
Frazier Campbell
Grant Hall
Benjamin Stambouli
Milenko Acimovic

Total impulse buys:
Mbulelo Mabizela – bought after impressing in a friendly vs Orlando Pirates in 2005
Bongani Khumalo – bought of a decent WC and trial in 2010

Redeemer:
Federico Fazio – redeemed his reputation in Seri A.

Liverpool showed the way when they needed two players to move to elite level and silverware.
The best defender and best goalkeeper were purchased .
No sell on , contract fuck ups, were considered but just what is best for the team.
Unfortunately we would never do this under Levy which means we are constantly suffocated by their restraints causing friction and bitterness amongst our fan base . A cycle which is endless.
