Hmm… I’m not sure that someone who regularly spends his time walking around the pitch hiding from the ball is someone trying his hardest.
I’m not a fan of the vitriol and abuse aimed at him, but I don’t feel sorry for him either. He’s the one with the power to turn things around by improving his performances, but he doesn’t seem to think there is an issue.

A quick google says he's on 150kpw.... 5 times the wages of Clarke.

That's probably after he signed a new deal earlier this season. Before that he was, according to that site, on 12K a week.
Clarke signed in 2019 so 30K a week then would have put him on over double the wage of Foden who is the same age as him. I can't believe that Clarke was on twice the salary of the best young player in the UK.
(Contracts can be on a rising scale... They can be written however you like.)
Age has little to go with it anyway though..... Japh is on a similar wage at the same age and no-one's batting an eyelid there.
Regardless, if peeps are gonna bitch about Winks being on 50kpw it's a bit rich for the same people to then start casting doubts over the same set of figures.

Winks got a new 5 year deal in 2018.... Ergo, blame Poch. He could have put Winks up for sale while his stock was still high, took Tielemans on loan in Jan 19 when offered and bought him instead of GLC in the summer.

I don't really care what money he's on TBH. I was just questioning the dude who said Clarke was on 1.6M a week. It's blindingly obvious Winks is nowhere near good enough and i want him out of the club at all costs.
The players are all multi-millionaires so if people want to call this one a wage-thief i'm not bothered at all. Others who have fleeced the club for far more money have been called the same (and worse).
They can be, but it’s fair to assume his isn’t on a rising scale and he’s paid the same amount as when he first signed.
