Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What team has Conte managed where he didn’t need big money? And what teams has he managed where he didn’t complain about spending?
Where did he complain about spending in Inter exactly ? Or in Juve? In Juve there was some beef between Conte and Andrea Agnelli, but that comes from Juve boss, as he was speaking to the media and put doubts on Conte achievement with Juventus and that they weren't good enough in CL, which were true, but Conte obviously needed more time, cause he just build the team, that were finished 7th, and before that was in Serie B. Obviously they were going to struggle in the CL.
And then Conte defend himself with the famous quote:
“Well, you cannot go to eat at a €100 restaurant with just €10 euro in your pocket, can you?”

The problem with Chelsea was, as with other manager, that the manager actually have very little to say about the transfer, not the money.
He said it in 1 interview in his second season where there was a burst between him and their Direction - Marina Granovskaia that every single transfer Chelsea made in the second season was not his choice, but actually her/club.
And that they - Chelsea have different view/policy about the incoming players.
He also didn't want to sell Matic, and didn't want Drinkwater as a replacement.

To be fair every manage will be mad.

At Inter i don't recall him made any comments at all. There was all just media speaking about his departure, and Conte was quiet at that time, tho it was obvious why he left.

As far as his achievement, he first won 2 promotion with Serie B teams, also won Serie B title with Bari.
When he took over Bari there were in the relegation zone, and he made them finish 11th. And in the second season he won the title with them and promote them to Serie A.
And just to mention this was just the second Serie B title Bari ever won. The previous one was in 1941-1942 ....

Also Conte took Juventus, who were 7th 2 season in a row.
He took Chelsea who finished 10th the previous season.
And he took Inter who best placing was 4th and hasn't won the title for 10-11 years or so.

Also in Chelsea both United and City have better squad and spend way more than him. Also Klopp was already in Pool from the winter, so he had more time than Conte in PL.
And no one had Chelsea winning the title that season, yet Conte managed to blew every one, and won the title.

Also whoever think Conte is playing defensive football, know nothing about football.
In the first season with Chelsea they scored 85 goals, only we scored 86, and that was because we played with a lot of relegated team in the end and regularly scored 3-4-5 goals against this team.
They were leading in the GF for quite a while.
Still he managed to outscore the 2 most attacking coaches in Klopp and Guardiola.

And his GD is always great. He always said that he wants his team to play a balanced football.

At Inter in the first season they scored 81 goals, only Atalanta, who is playing highly attacking football without much thinking about defense outscored them, but Atalanta also conceded 48 goals this season.
Same for his winning season with them.
Inter scored 89 goals, and conceded 35.
Atalanta scored 90, and conceded 47.

I hope people stop with the nonsenses about Conte.
The problem is not him, never was. Our problem is from 11 starters, we had 2-3 quality, and the rest are dog****** midtablers, and this is a fact !!!

On the bench there is noONE that can come and change the outcome of a game. And people are talking about our Subs. Good luck with that bench. Kane also got NONE who can replace him.

Son form is dog**** and this ain't Conte fall. Kane is not consistent as well, and it's like that for some season already.

the performances are improving, the passing-game is improved, we create many goal chances
but maybe we lack in balance ATM
the solutions could be two:
buy de ligt to win aerial duels and continue with this 343
buy 2 midfielders and switch to 352

We are mainly lacking quality defending.
You don't expect us to score 5 goals every single match, because we are constantly conceding.
We scored 2 goals at OT, that should be enough for at least a draw.
Also you don't allow one player at 37 years old to score you 3 goals, and also knowing his name.

When Poch came, we had Mousa Dembele, Eriksen, Walker, Rose , Vertonghen and 3 strikers (Ade, Soldado, Kane). The squad now is p!ss poor.
When Poch came only Eriksen was universally rated by the fanbase. Every single one of those of the players you mentioned had massive question marks hanging over them. Let’s not revise history here.

Conte will do similar, he’ll turn around some players and get rid of others for upgrades.

To return to my own previous post regarding a pressing system. This is what I had/have in mind:

Kovac used a similar formation at Frankfurt and Bayern to the one Conte has us use, and a similar distribution of roles within his squad. But he used a slightly more aggressive pressing system utilized higher up the field to force turnovers.

Right now Conte has us sit back in a mid block and we don't press until the opponent is over the halfway line, which forces us to sit back more and just gives the opponent unnecessary time with the ball.

If we just pressed a little further up I think that we would look much better off the ball.

Yes and no.....

A turbulent year of post-Bale AVB & Twatty Tim left some of them in a bad/un-enthused place, but with the likes of Jan, Hugo, Eriksen it was broadly accepted that they were good players..... Walker was Raw but already proving effective (if fairly error prone).

.......The damn shame here was that it took Poch so long to suss Dembele out.

These guys combined with the commitment and work ethic of the academy lads that were coming to bloom (Kane, Mason, Bentaleb in particular) gave Poch enough to lean on whilst the clearout/revamp took place and a damn good spine to build around during his first 2/3 trf windows.

I always maintained that the speed and effectiveness of the clear-out/overhaul was impressive on Poch's part; hopefully Conte is equally successful in that sense.

I ain't gonna question conte yet. I was never a fan of Maureen and frankly never saw improvement under him, but I have seen an improvement under conte. We are better against the high press, we are getting better at breaking teams down. Individuals have looked better. I've dreaded watching spurs at times in the last few years because the way we played, now I'm fearful about individual mistakes - that's an improvement!

Now I ain't saying he can create a masterpiece with this band but they are heading in the right direction and I believe he can make strides with the right support.... We threw away goals on Saturday but we were never bad in possession, and I reckon they came away thinking they stole points and spurs were spursy - now let's give conte time to kick that out of us.

All very good but.... We scored two at old Trafford and produced a number of other good chances, the problem ain't at that end.. We conceded three shockers! Dier not getting out to block, wrong man for the corner and reggi playing people onside....

"We scored two at old Trafford "
An own goal and a penalty. We didn't score from open play.

"produced a number of other good chances, the problem ain't at that end"
You kinda contradict yourself here. If we created good chances, it IS a problem if we aren't putting them in the back of the net.

But for 3 moments of pathetic defending, we'd have won 2-0
United barely troubled us outside of Ronaldo's 3 goals from his 0.85 xg!
