the British press, to stop giving away our managers and players.

Getting very very tiresome now. Earn your 15m. Its every week. Hes made his point now crack on. Win games against Burnley Southampton etc. All he has done has blame everyone/everything else for his short comings. His subs and in game management has been a joke tbh.

Anyone that takes offence to his comments or are getting fed up then you're very much part of the problem, he's backing the board into the corner constantly which is what we all want to hear and what we asked for.

The comments themselves aren't even that bad. It is how they are spun by journalists in the headlines to draw attention that is the problem.

If one actually listens to Conte's press conferences he actually comes off as reasonable.

We had the same problem with Jose. Listen to the press conference = for the most part perfectly reasonable. Read just the headline = completely out of line.

I agree, people just need to chill and not react like tha, we all know what the media does.

I think these journalists need a therapist to sit in on their WhatsApp group for when they are all sitting round deciding which story to put out and how to spin it. Every one is so negative and they always all follow the same path. I’d hate to be one of them walking underneath that cloud every day.

“Honestly I have my vision and it does not change," Conte continued. “The vision was the same in the past, the vision is the same in the present, the vision will be the same in future. The vision will be this. I stop if the vision of someone is not the same.

“I have a vision, one vision: I want to fight to win. I want to fight to be competitive. I want to feel that we need one per cent to win the title or a trophy in which we participate. We have to feel this. This is my vision and I continue to have this vision.”

This sounds completely fair and reasonable. Journos are just spinning it in a negative light. Including our own Alasdair Gold.

Wait until the summer transfer window when you’ve got them doing it regarding transfers or the manager. Then the aggregators come in with their spin, misquotes and half quotes and make it even worse.

Last summer was bad for negativity, the winter window almost impossible to navigate online and on twitter for people getting sucked in and baited by the stories. Time and again. You can bet it will be even worse this year as they’ve all got so good at winding up the fan base and making it as negative as possible.

Reason #489d why I'm getting sick 'n tired of football.

Barely anyone even bothers to post in here following his press confs.

That kind of says it all, doesn't it?

When he first dropped "truth bombs" as they were called this thread exploded and probably went on to about twenty pages.

Think he needs to pull a new rabbit out of his hat if he's looking for something from fans, club, players.

I only just been bothered to look into this thread to take a quick view. I've still not read, or listened to his press conf in full, just saw a couple of tweets from Kilpatrick and Gold. I've no desire to investigate further, examine the whole conf, look for clues, look for reason, try to interpret what he means.

I literally couldn't give a shit about what he has to say.

I think he's a great coach and done really good things with this team, he's changed a lot to how we play and compete. I just have zero empathy with him. Leaves me totally cold, I don't get turned on by slo-mo shots of him on the touchline, I prefer some wisdom and engaging dialogue.

Well they need to get paid I guess so they're always going to bait the clicks, fans in general especially our fans just read into things too much particularly when it has a negative spin, must be very easy to make money off our fanbase.

We'll know what's what by the end of the summer window, and if we have made 4 to 6 signings for the positions we need. 4 seems the minimum required, 6 might really get the job done but not be possible in one window. We signed 2 in January, doesn't seem unreasonable to get 4 to 6 in the summer.

That's just the numbers though, they obviously have to be players that Conte wants. By the end of the window, we should have a clear idea if Conte is being backed or not.

I think the question really is, “why do all the journalists want to twist his words into something negative all the time rather than positive?”

He says nothing wrong or negative at all. He’s previously said him and Levy are on the same page going forward and that he’s happy at the club. Here he’s just talking about wanting to make us better. If anything his words are good!

Because clicks,
The media want to make news.

Kane has delivered whilst the other 2 have been poor.

Even the Rondaldo first goal....its not a fault but I'm almost certain Ramsdale or Allison would be saving them.
Eh, Kane has had a fair few games as well where he doesn't show up.

The narrative that he is a no show in big games is certainly overblown. But there is something to it.

He's a great league striker. He'll score loads throughout a season and keep a team decently competitive as long as he stays healthy. But I do think that he has a tendency to go a bit invisible in elimination games.

It really looks as if all of the UK press wants Conte to leave Spurs

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte 'in discussions' with PSG as contract clause emerges

TOTTENHAM appointed Antonio Conte as their boss in November.

¨Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is apparently in discussions with Paris Saint-Germain over the prospect of taking charge at the Parc des Princes. And it has emerged that the Italian has a clause in his Spurs contract to leave the club in the summer.

Conte is regarded as one of the best managers in world football and has enjoyed successful spells with Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan. He was appointed Spurs boss last November following the Lilywhites’ sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo, who lasted just four months at the helm.

And Conte has since been focusing his attentions on helping Spurs secure a top-four Premier League finish. But, according to Calciomercato, Conte has now begun negotiations with PSG. And it appears his contract will allow him to walk away from Spurs at the end of the season if he opts for a move to France.

Conte is said to be tempted by the offer of a fresh challenge in Paris and would no doubt be handed prodigious sums of cash to build whatever squad he desires across the channel. PSG are one of the richest clubs in the world and their owners would likely be more than happy to back Conte by sanctioning mega-money transfer deals and substantial player wages.

Tottenham will try to persuade the 52-year-old to stay in north London as he has overseen an upturn in performances during his brief time at the helm. But they could face a huge battle to keep him if they don’t qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Spurs are part of the chasing pack looking to cement fourth spot in the Premier League table come May. But their hopes were dealt a major blow last weekend as they were defeated 3-2 by top-four rivals Manchester United.

Last summer, Conte left Inter just weeks after leading the club to their first Serie A title in 11 years. And Spurs chiefs will be hoping they don’t become the second club in less than a year to lose the star manager after he committed his future to the Lilywhites just days ago.

“For sure at the moment there is only one truth - I am committed to this club for another year,” Conte said at the end of last week. “After four months I think the club have understood the way I want to work and I understand the club.

“We have three more months till the end of the season to continue to improve our knowledge of each other and then to find the best solution for both. I can tell you that I am enjoying working for this club and I would like to fight for something important for this club.”

I really want to know how much of this PSG talk would be occurring if Poch wasn’t their manager and recently said we were special to him.

The press obviously want Conte to go, Poch to come back (and likely fail) so they can continue the narrative of us being Spursy.
