True though it would be us or Woolwich not utd who benefited this year if the rule was in place.
Watch us finish 6th in 2024!!
Of course it would benefit us THIS year... but this is in 2 years' time...
Ryan Mason will be in charge by then... Conte will be back at Inter... Kane will be providing assists for Haaland.... it's all a long way off!!

Man Utd & Arse on the other hand probably will benefit!

I sware this is done to fuck us.

1 EL doesn’t get CL, now it does (admittedly I think we played one EL season where we could).

2 handball is a pen against Sissoko, rules changed so that doesn’t happen again.

3 Chelsea win CL and we are 4th and go into EL, rules changed to fix it.

Its like the fix only goes in after we are fucked.
Correction on number 2. The handball law at the time stated that if the ball comes off any part of the player's body (other than hand/arm) first and then rebounds onto the player's arm then it's not handball. It came off his chest, then went onto his arm, it wasn't handball!!

They'll pull it together to beat Leicester next week, who are already on vacations. Even if they lose to Leeds (wouldn't surprise me one bit), they're strong enough to get at least a point v Leicester and utterly demolish Watford, and that's presuming that we win all 3 games ourselves...
Like all of these permutations; what a lot of folk are forgetting is that we are well unlikely to win the next 3. In fact it would sum us up to best Woolwich and lose pts against Burnley

That midday Sunday KO is a massive risk - no atmosphere, we often struggle to get going in games vs lower sides when early KO

Tottenham could have already secured their spot in next season Champions League following UEFA's imminent plans to change the qualification process. European football's governing body is set to scrap their plans to reward teams with the highest co-efficient ranking over the last five years, instead favouring those who have performed best in the competition that season.

Spurs currently sit fifth in the Premier League table and head into Thursday's north London derby with Woolwich knowing a win will edge them to within one point of their rivals.

As reported by the Times, however, the deal will come into being for the 2024/25 season but if applied from this season, it would have resulted in England and the Netherlands being given an extra place each - meaning Tottenham would have already secured their place in the Champions League.

For the Premier League club finishing in fifth position, this would guarantee them a place in the qualifying rounds, meaning West Ham United would have done so for the 20/21 campaign. As it stands at present, Conte's side would be heading for Europa League football, with plans also in place to increase the number of group matches from 2024 from six to eight - the initial plan to have 10 initial matches having been altered.

The changes come after a wholesale makeover of Europe's elite footballing competition, and would perhaps favour teams like Manchester United following their imperious history in the tournament too.

Under its new and improved format, the Champions League will be expanded from 32 to 36 teams, with the “Swiss model” being brought into play. A single league will then begin, before clubs will earn points from playing eight matches against opponents of different rankings.

Tottenham last qualified for the Champions League back in 2018/19, finishing in fourth position behind Chelsea, Liverpool and runaway champions Manchester City.

Am I misunderstand this article.... No we couldn't have, because those rules are 2-3 years away...

So we could have secured our place in next season's CL... if the new rules applied now... which they don't... so we haven't.

Is that the gist of it? What lazy journalism / click-bait implying in the first sentence that our current position might qualify us for next season's CL (which is how I'm sure many will read that first sentence).

:/

Romero levels of tackling all round from us and we’ll leave the pitch with 11 men and there’ll be some sore Woolwich players this weekend.

Couldn't make this up. Spurs need help from Leeds vs both Woolwich & Chelski.
Leeds are down 1 goal vs both teams after just 5 min and then get a man sent off after 24 min & 27 min respectively.
Talk about being self-destructive and not learning their lesson 🤔
Oh, well...
