Eriksen is a no brainer. Basically carried Brentford. I'd say 2 centre halfs. LCB and CB, 2xwingbacks and a centre forward. CM next season will be Skipp and Benty. Hoj poss Sarr. We defo need a ACM like Eriksen.

It's still upsetting me that my no. 1 choice for the RWB spot, Livramento, got that serious injury. Yes, he's still young at only 19, and we've seen that in 2 of the most promising FBs in recent times, Wan-Bissaka & Luke Shaw, both basically flopped. Whether it was the pressure of playing at a bigger club, or their attitude or simply lack of skills, or a combination of all 3 factors, I don't know, but it shows that early promises is never a guarantee for buying any player really.
But I felt that of all the "realistic" RBW targets he was the only young one with star potential.
And despite that Chelksi have a buy-back I doubt they would have activated as they have James at RB and have to spend a small fortune on CB's now many of them are leaving.
Yes, of course, they could have bought him back and sold him.
Anyway, he will out all of 2022 apparently, but I hope he'll recover...

Where would you play Eriksen? Conte rarely deploys ACM. Yes, there wasn't any at Spurs - apart from Ndombele & Lo Celso both of whom he loaned out - who fits that description but I doubt he'll change his formation to fit in Eriksen.
Eriksen sure helped Brentford improve as a team but they weren't performing badly even before he arrived, so saying he carried Brentford is stretching it...
He's not built for a MF-2, and he doesn't oust Son, Kane or Kulusevski for the attacking spots. And with the coming WC coming up he wants to play regular 1st football to make sure he gets into the Danish squad.
I am not against signing him up but I am not that bothered about getting him either. And he was rather "uninspired" in his last season at Spurs when he had his sight set on leaving long before the season ended.

If Eriksen came back he'd come back as an option, not a starter.

They have that money and are not scared of spending it. How much did they spend on Pepe, 75 mill? 50 mill on White etc. Kroenke opened the spending taps a few seasons ago without CL football on offer
The bigger problem for them is that any player worth that kind of money will be steering well clear now. It's easy to "scout" Osihmen and Vlahovic lol

They may wish to spunk 70m+ on a striker but they have a paper thin squad, with shit backups and injury prone starts in the backline/midfield.

agree under Conte I feel the CM 2, will be defensive and water carriers with Kane and the WB's as the creative players, maybe Eriksen can play as WB, he can defend, he can cross, but can he stay on the wing ?

Eriksen as a WB is as bad of an idea as Son as a WB or Sissoko as a RB. He can't defend for one, and he needs to use his vision to make things happen and pick passes, instead of crossing balls into the box.

if we were in EL we could run with first & second 11's so backup players got a game most weeks in EL & cup matches leaving the first 11 for EPL, but being in CL and with new 5 subs rule we need a solid 17/20 First teamers, the manager need to "understand " how to use the 5 sub rule, hopefully Conte & his coaches will look at how different manager in EFL and around europe used the 5 subs in league matches
