Or could give parrot the backup striker role

He's not ready..... He needs a loan for a strong champo team.

I do like Bowen as I say but I reckon he’d be too much and not worth it if he isn’t a guaranteed starter

Would be a long term signing; still only 25 and would outlast Sonny & Kane.... We'd be getting his peak years and maybe 6/7 years all in.

Lots of question marks all of a sudden tho'..... Hard to know what equates to "too expensive".

Might be a gopd time to sign Lamptey. His stock has dropped second half of the season so doubt they would be wanting anywhere near the figures that were quoted before.

Thing is, they will probably be losing Bissouma and Cucurella so won't exactly be needing the £££.
No thanks....Lamptey is too injury prone and at 50 mill is a waste of money

If this rum9or is true I have a feeling that Bale just wanted to get back at Real Madrid - both the club and its fans...

Atletico Madrid have turned down the chance to sign Gareth Bale on a free transfer this summer, according to reports in Spain.
The 32-year-old Welshman is set to leave city rivals Real Madrid after a topsy-turvy nine-year stint with the club.
And Spanish radio station Cadena COPE claim the former Tottenham star's services were offered to Atletico Madrid in a meeting between his agents and the Spanish club's sporting director Andrea Berta.

However, the report claims the club's technical director told his representatives - led by the executive chairman of ICM Stellar Sports Jonathan Barnett - that while they appreciated the offer, they did not see him as part of their plans.

It comes with the same outlet adding Bale would like to stay in Madrid if possible, especially because his family appear settled, given that they remained in the Spanish capital during his loan spell back at Spurs in the 2020-21 season.

However, speaking last week, Barnett hinted a decision on Bale's future will depend on whether Wales make their first World Cup for 64 years.

'He leaves Real Madrid, but it all depends on whether Wales qualify, then we will make a decision,' Barnett told Portuguese newspaper Record.

'Is it more likely to return to England? I think so, but we'll have to wait and see if Wales qualify for the World Cup.'

Wales boss Robert Page has named skipper Bale in a 27-man squad for the World Cup play-off final against Scotland or Ukraine in Cardiff on June 5.

The Welshman however will go into the Scotland play-off without much match practice under his belt.

Bale has made just two cameo substitute appearances for Real Madrid since scoring both goals in Wales' 2-1 World Cup play-off victory over Austria on March 24.

The 32-year-old had been absent from Real's last six matchday squads with a back problem.

He trained prior to Madrid's final league game of the season but then complained of the same issue, robbing him of the chance to bid farewell to the home crowd at the Santiago Bernabeu, with whom he has shared a fractious relationship over the years.

It now remains to be seen whether he will be available for Real's Champions League final date with Liverpool on Saturday in Paris.
he doesn't want to stay in Spain does he. We all know he wants to be closer to Wales. I could see him go somewhere else other than the UK but only if the money was too good to turn down.

Cornet

He is very good, better than the likes of Werner, Ivan Toney etc. but waaaay off someone like Kane.

I can't comment too much on his inter showings, but for Argentina he's a bit of Gabriel jesus/Lo Celso. Works insanely hard, scores the ocassional banger, but so often misses easy chances and fucks up combination plays etc. Still ends the season as Argentina's top scorer. They absolutely love him, cos he's turned up for the national team in a way the likes of Aguero have not.

Watched Cornet a fair bit in the first half of the season and he looked, head and shoulders, the best of a bad bunch.
Can’t see him staying with Burnley in the Championship but I wonder, given their investment, if they loan him to a Prem team and see if they can bounce right back.

Lyon in their CL run to the semis I think it was Cornet played wingback and was a monster, not the best player but can play that position and has goals in him

I'm now going to be that guy. I did tell you all this maybe a full month ago. That there had already been a big injection of cash. I thought it might be naming but it was certainly real. Came on here and had a chat might have been with CollyQC CollyQC Oh and here is my other and only ITK we are close on a real upgrade already first team improving. Got told it was done if we made ECL, it might be Bastoni but it could also be SMS. Definitely from the Italian end, that's how I heard it

IMO, as far the Conte system is concerned, being able to score is like half the job of the wingback. Fancy passing, physical strength etc are great but the number of chances squandered by Regui and Emerson could have seen us comfortably finish third.
