I did jury duty a few years ago, IIRC, all we were asked to judge was whether the prosecution proved beyond doubt that the person was guilty beyond reasonable doubt. If in any doubt, the verdict should be not guilty.

I realised just how hard it can be prove something in court beyond doubt. Also difficult to prove that you're innocent beyond doubt.

So if he's found not guilty doesn't mean he didn't do it, but equally doesn't mean that he has any way prove his innocence.

Should he be treated as a criminal even after winning the case?
I did jury service last year and the bloke was bang to rights but got off.
The funniest thing was he denied owning a distinctive coat and his brother gave evidence wearing the identical coat.

Were you sure it was his jacket and not his brother's as he said? I guess the rest of the jury didn't see it that way.

The other thing I learned from jury duty was how scary the general public is, there were 2/3 people who were adamant that the person was guilty the moment they walked into the deliberation room. Swear if we still had lynch mobs those two would have been leading it.

There were also one or two who seemed a bit too keen to cast aspersions about the accuser.

Frankly, the case was short of evidence beyond he said, she said.

I wasn’t really talking about bissouma… I know little of that case.

I agreed with most of your post and I never said I would treat people as criminals just for being accused, just that a not guilty verdict does not necessarily mean innocence.

For example, if greenwood never goes to trial, is he innocent? Most of us have heard proof he is not. Hes a scumbag rapist and he may change his ways and improve as a human in the future but he’ll never be able to say he was innocent.

People not wanting Jesus is nuts - he’d be absolutely perfect signing in the forward positions. Proven in the prem, only 25, tricky, can finish and can play across the front line (Son esque). Yes, he is a bit inconsistent, but so was Son at his age. He will get loads of game time next season for us between UCL, cup games and 5 subs. He will be the type of player Conte brings on first if we need something different. If the price is right, it would be a great deal. Plus it stops him going to Woolwich an fixing their problems up front.
You're his agent aren't you?.... 🤔

There are a lot of top quality (without the fan fair) players on that list. Do not be dissatisfied and disappointed it is names you never expected. The top targets has other top clubs keen on them. We hang around too long waiting on selling club, we run the risk of loosing our back-ups.
My favourite thing is the "look at what we were telling you in January" attempted smugness of the so-called 'ITKs'.

Fucking nonsense. As if any of them were even slightly hinting at a £150m cash injection by ENIC this summer.
