So Conte was so hacked off with Perisic not doing the defensive work he loaned him out.
Perisic adapted, returned to Inter willing to do the dirty work. And now it seems they're besties.

Same with Eriksen. Conte said he was the board's signing, and hardly played him for the first few months. But then Eriksen adapted and won Conte's confidence.

We have ambitions to win trophies next season, and signing players who already know Conte's physical & tactical demands makes perfect sense.
Also makes me wonder if there's a path back for some of the guys we loaned out in January.

How we could do with gough now with his leadership qualities . Uptime times upgrade on dier.
Gough leaving so soon was really disappointing. It weakened us (along with Hod going) at a time when Utd were average, Liverpool were aging and Woolwich nowhere to be seen. Everton we’re good for a year or two iirc. Chavs were competing for the Zenith cup lol.

If we’re talking about bringing back Gough, can we also bring back Gary Mabbutt alongside him?…

I can't see any resurrection for Tanguy under Conte.

GLC is a mystery, because clearly there's a player there. And - unlike Ndombele - I have seen Lo Celso sprint. But Conte doesn't seem to want him in the squad.

The one I hold out most hope for is Bryan Gil, because potentially he is a very good player. I get that Conte decided he wasn't physically strong enough yet. Given his build, he may need another season to work on the physical part of his game. But Gil has real natural talent & a confidence receiving the ball in tight situations that can't readily be coached.

I also note the patience Conte showed with Sessegnon. He bigged him up before that Europa Conference game, and Ryan promptly got a red card for a silly lunge. But Conte didn't bin him, even when he got injured again and then showed a clear lack of confidence in his first few games. Conte kept playing him, and we saw signs of real progress in the last few games of the season.

Conte is tough & demanding. But all top coaches are.

If it is , it’s not much of a step up is it ?
My mind has gone blank and I can't remember any names but Bissouma to me is another one in the long line of DMs who look great playing for Watford, Bournemouth, Brighton or whoever and wind up getting transferred to another lower half side (usually after their team gets relegated) and never progressing.
Are City, Liverpool or Chelsea after him?
Rumours always link him with WHU, Newcastle, Aston Villa and unfortunately us.

We will sell GLC because he wants to plays for Argentina and ain't gonna come back to THFC and not play for us and consequently miss the WC.
Problem with Gil and Reg is they are puny. Sess is not Arnie but he is tough enough.

Disagree on this. Bissouma has way more class about him than the likes of Docoure (sp), Schneiderlin, Lermer etc. He has a touch of the Dembeles about him

Player A versus Player B, comparing their first five seasons in the Premier League.

Both players are wingers who can play through the middle if necessary. Player A played for a mid-table team that never finished higher than eighth. Player B player for a team normally in the UCL with the lowest finish at 6th.

Player A (age 20-25)
Season 1: 5G/4A
Season 2: 13G/1A
Season 3: 13G/3A
Season 4: 7G/3A
Season 5: 10G/5A

Total: 173 appearances, 48 goals (4pk), 16 assists

Player B (Age 22-27)
Season 1: 4G/1A
Season 2: 14G/6A
Season 3: 12G/6A
Season 4: 12G/6A
Season 5: 11G/10A

Total: 160 appearances, 53 goals (1pk), 29 assists

Player A is Richarlison and Player B is Son. Considering Richarlison has played for bottom half Watford/Everton dross sides and is still only 25, that's a damn good record. Versatile, could play anywhere in the front three and coming into this prime years. Not sure what the fee would be, but I think it'd be a great premier league prove signing and would love to see what he can do in a quality side. He's a tit on the pitch, but in the way that Dele used to be where you love him if he's on your team. Works his socks off.
