More or less getting our money back for Bergwijn is great business. Outside of the PL, no one has money except the traditional giants. Clubs have been getting rinsed by teams on the continent trying to sell their players, look at some of Woolwich’s business and failed business.

He had a couple of incredible moments at City and Leicester but by and large it hasn’t worked out here. No use in holding on the small chance he’ll be worth 40m in a few years when we can get nearly 25m now.

Bloke had played 2850 minutes in all competitions in his 2.5 years here. Royale played almost 2700 just this year and he want even fully first choice. We’re getting very sound money for backup that can be used for someone much better. Thank god for his performances while on international duty.
The cash difference between PL and foreign leagues is so stark. I think only German clubs seems to be more or less spending as usual, but their usual is not a lot. Out of Bayern and Dortmund they've always shopped domestic and in the bargain bucket category.

Perennial Europa league fodder woolwich are spending 150m again.

Honestly would rather take Sarr and Dennis from Watford or Sarr and Toney. Probably get 2 players for the price of Richarlison or Raphinha.

Sarr Dennis and Toney would all be happy to play for us, would probably be happy with rotation and Toney is HG

With the couple of derogatory vids/comments he made about Brentford, I wouldn't think Toney can be trusted not to throw his toys out the pram, if he's in rotation. Publically, mind.

Would take Toney over all of them, he's got a decent bit of physicality, we could then get someone like Raphina too.

I know a lot of punters don't really care but if we get £18m instead of £15m for Winks and £20m for Berg instead of £18m etc: that is a big deal.
We are gonna sell at least 6 players and an extra couple of mill here and there will really make a diff when we are putting in bids for top players.
The flip side is that, for those few million you mention, they stay and the squad progression stalls (again)

So which way do you want it ?

Yeah sure they would be alright cheap options who would be happy to be on the bench.

But Raphina and Richarlison are better and we need players that are pushing to be first choice (though unlikely because our attackers are so good)

Some fantastic advice there…. I’m can’t think anyone in business has ever considered this

You did lead with ‘obviously’
I'm talking more to the people on here who seem to be losing their minds over the little bit of haggling. You know very well there's a contingent of football fans who are always "get the deal done at all costs".

Everton fans ought to get real. They almost got relegated. Winks is a reliable player with experience against the best clubs including in the CL, and he would instantly improve them. They act as if our rejects arent an upgrade for them when they absolutely are because while they are fighting to achieve mid table hopefully we are working to challenge for the title. They don’t deserve Winks and £25M is actually very reasonable.
They have this unearned sense of superiority. They have less trophies than us and they have a longer trophy drought than us.

Everton fans think they are better than us despite almost getting relegated. They are as delusional as Woolwich.

I wouldn’t say they would be cheap options - just cheaper options given Watford demise.

It’s a matter of opinion, but I think Sarr, Dennis or Toney would be a step up from Richarlison. On Raphinha if his heart is set on Barca I’d rather target players who want to come.

Raphinha’s creative numbers (xA, key passes, shot creating actions, etc) in his two seasons at Leeds are nearly identical to Kulusevski with us.

His assist output in 2020-2021 (9 assists) when Bamford was healthy and Leeds were in form are in line with his creation numbers. Last year with Bamford out and his creative numbers relatively similar (slight drop off), he only gets three assists. Meanwhile Kulusevski gets 8 in half a season.

All to say, his assist numbers should tick up quite a lot playing with Kane and Son. Plus he’s shown the ability to score from the wing with 17 league goals the last two years. Very respectable return for a winger playing a pretty poor side and new to the league.

Or you can look at it saying 11 goals 3 assists with 3 penalties is the same as Pukki for Norwich

Not that we should be in for him but he's a very good player
