We've - finally - got decent cash... not standing for poverty player retention (bar Doc, who showed he actually does have a cohesive game in that position).

Pace is much more needed when Spurs - for whatever reason - are pressed back, and pace can be used as a counter-attacking weapon. Against teams that park the bus, it's more the "pace" of the brain that is needed to unlock defenses.
 
Just thought it worth mentioning that it feels like due to the speed and lack of fuss they were completed, the signings of Perisic and Bissouma have gone slightly under the radar even amongst Spurs fans.

Two absolutely HUGE upgrades to the first XI that will allow us to implement Conte's system with much more ease - and we are already pretty damn good at it.

I know it's easy to look ahead in anticipation of the next shiny toy to arrive but we've made the best signings in the league so far and I'm sure we will continue in this vein.
 
It just dawned on me that after Spurs acquired Bissouma they now have the best player from each of the "football continents" :D

Europe - Kane
Asia - Son
Africa - Bissouma
South America - Romero
