You get the feeling that Paratici has narrowed his lists and a couple of the deals are dependent on one another:

>If we're actually going for Gordon and would play him as a RWB, it could be seen as a choice between him and Spence (with the latter seeming to stall over price).
>That appears to have a subsequent impact upon a choice of creative midfielder: free rein if a home grown RWB comes in, but needing to be a homegrown CAM if a foreign alternative for RWB is purchased.
>Lenglet loan for LCB looks to be imminent (itself probably due to Bastoni being impossible this summer).
>IF that happens, the big money will be spent on a central CB, possibly Bremer.

So my guess is that those CAM-RWB and LCB-CB moves are interconnected and happen quickly once one is picked.

We've got 2 HG spaces which are vacant - if Spence comes we still have one free. I'd be very happy to sign Gordon as I think we can cover left and right wing, based upon his Everton performances, and happy to put in a defensive shift which is great.

So its definitely not either Spence or Gordon - as HG players we have room for them both, and if we don't find someone like Gordon as an HG player we are simply one player short in the squad.

Not sure Gordon has played RWB - but he does seem to have a lot of the raw attributes that would enable Conte to get him to play that role, and its not that uncommon for wingers to make that move.

But I'd be happy to bring Gordon in as a forward (who may or may not be able to trained to be RWB) assuming Bergwijn is off - that gives us 6 forwards with Son, Kane, Kulusevski, Richarlison, Moura, and Gordon.

Will it happen - not sure, doubt if Everton are anxious to sell - on the other hand not sure most of their players are wanted by other clubs. So they may need to sell

Totally agree! Davies is one of our most under appreciated players. His blokes in key moments saved us on numerous occasions. He is a key players for us not doubt about it.

He had a fantastic season under Conte

I think Conte would like some of his strengths such as 'defensive contribution' and likes to tackle ........ it suggests the all action type of player that Conte wants

Anthony Gordon Characteristics

+ Strengths

Long shots
Strong
Taking set-pieces
Strong
Defensive contribution
Strong

- Weaknesses

Passing
Weak

Anthony Gordon's Style of Play

Gets fouled often
Likes to cross
Likes to play short passes
Likes to tackle
I don’t get this at all
His passing is weak but he likes to cross and play short passes?
I might like sex, but since I’m no good at it then I’m better off sticking to the one or two things I’m capable of doing competently.
Which are….err …

Typical noob view - the foreign guy with the exotic sounding name has to be infinitely better than a boring looking guy called Ben.

If someone wants to make an argument for Romero, there are valid points to be made. But to say Benazir Davies didn't even come close is utter stupidity. Since Contes arrival, he was consistently putting in top performances.
You seem to have forgotten how this "foreign guy with the exotic sound name" was treated in the first months of his career at Spurs - not very nice. Some had already written him off as a flop because he rarely played either due to injuries or due to international games for Argentina. He was, for example, accused of putting Argentina first, being too injury prone (but always fit when it came to Argentina) and not suited for the EPL ...and thus being an expensive flop. And true, he did not play that well in the beginning of his career at Spurs but he wasn't given much time (by a few Spurs fans) to adjust to life in the EPL either.
Another "foreign guy with the exotic sound name" who was the man behind buying him, Paratici, was called all kinds of nasty names and many wanted him out the door partly due to this purchase. Both, so far, are now "heroes".
Thus said, I always stood up for Davies (and Dier) in the past, and Davies had a stellar season as a LCB and, of course, deserves a lot of credit for that. And any LCB that Spurs signs will have the fight to replace Davies.
However, Romero has been labeled world-class by several after last season - Davies never has. And this is not just because of him being a "boring looking guy."
Yes, there have also been games when Davies has performed even "better" than Romero but IMO opinion there is a fair gap (I cannot quantify it exactly) between Romero and Davies but that does not make Davies any less of a player.

This interview might start some rumors now :D

NAC Breda goalkeeper Roy Kortsmit admits he could handle being the number 2 goalkeeper at Tottenham Hotspur, but has had a difficult time providing cover at the Rat Verlegh Stadion.

Goalkeeper Kortsmit was snapped up by NAC Breda on a free transfer two years ago, after he had suffered a bad shoulder injury.

His role at the Dutch side has been to provide cover, but following the departure of Nick Olij, he is being pushed up to the club’s number 1 next season.

Kortsmit admits the last two years have been difficult and revealed that he could stand being the backup goalkeeper at Tottenham, but not at NAC Breda.

"Being a second goalkeeper is not really fun, unless it is at Tottenham on a million, then it’s a little better maybe”, he told BN DeStem.

There's been talk about Spurs creating a "South American" wall/fortress by adding Bremer & Hincapié to Romero in a back-3 (and keeping Sanchez as back-up). Well, the problem with this is that as soon as international duties (particularly Copa America) come up this "wall" will vanish into thin air by flying off (to Sur America)

Copa America is in the summer. International duty is the same window for all associations. It's not Afcon, which is smack in the middle of the season.

I know. But, f.ex., the Copa America in 2021 took place from 13 June to 10 July 2021; which means the player will be back late for pre-season and thus lose some of the first games.

It's not like the only continental competition is the South American one. It's the same with the Euros. And both take place every 4 years, just in a different year. So not sure why Copa America is different.
