Transfers Summer 2022 Transfer Thread.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not sure about that from Murphy. It does poss a question though, both Eriksen and Fernandes are not strong defensively, I think they would be good going forward with both on the pitch but United could also fold like a house of cards unless they have 1-2 really dominate midfielders behind them.
Without turning this into a manure thread, it seems ETH wants to transform them into a side playing "the Ajax way".

So, if he gets de Jong & Eriksen to join van de Beek, he has a full complement of Ajax ball playing midfielders. Add Bruno F, and that's four CMs who are good on the ball and not very good defensively. But unlike de Boer's clusterfuck at Palace, ETH will at least have an "Ajax core" to implement his philosophy. The transition should be quicker.

The real question is whether that style of playing will work week in, week out, in the PL.

Or whether manure have to return to the McFred (McTominay & Fred) CM axis.

Thought De Jong was staying at Barca?

My guess is that Conte didn't want him. End of.
My guess is Conte would have been perfectly content with a highly experienced, talented, midfielder in Eriksen who knows both the PL and Conte's tactical demands.

But, I think we will start every game with a central 2 from Bissouma, Bentancur, PEH & Skipp. I don't think Conte would have considered Eriksen as part of that CM2 rotation.

So, Eriksen's role would have been as a creative CM if Conte ever switched to a 3 man midfield (as per his Inter 3-5-2), or as an AM playing in a Kulu-type role.

So, Eriksen would have been squad depth at Spurs, not a regular starter. At manure, I think he's better than vd Beek and his role in ETH's midfield 3 is far more natural. So he'll play a lot more football.

I wish Eriksen the very best, except of course when he plays against the famous Spurs.

David Ornstein seems to be the new ‘go to’ for breaking transfer news

Always has been hasn't he? I know he had the exclusives of Woolwich but he's always been better than that goal hanger than Romano, Ornstein only really reports on what he knows and what he is 100% sure off, he was all over the Dybala story a fey years ago for example.

Was never a big fan Eriksen the person, but if he goes to United he's a snake and I hope Bissouma snaps him two.

Was always quite clear he was going to United. He left on not the best terms only a couple years ago, and we weren’t pushing hard for his return anyway.

We are really growing a fantastic squad here with the inevitable arrivals of Lenglet and Spence shortly. Does anyone seriously think we can challenge the league? Initially i was thinking no chance, but why not? We got a fantastic manager. Building a brilliant squad to compete. We have Kane and Son. I honestly think we can challenge City and Liverpool
Not quite there yet.

We would have a starting back line of Perisic, Davies, Dier and Romero, Spence. City would have Cucurella, Dias, Stones and Cacelo. With Walker, laporte (and others?) as backup. Our backups would Sanchez, Lenget etc.

A bit gulf there.

Their midfield of Rodri, KDB, Silva with Phillips, gundogan as backs is also slightly better.

Only our attack is better. If they sign a decent backup forward, they'll have at least as good depth as us too.

City's backline got their backline tickled by a Kaneless Tottenham.
