I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but I always liked him. He was one of our best players in the “good” Mourinho days, and definitely a good/creative midfield option.
The question still stands: why would we be abandoning or pursuit of Spence, a HG RWB, if we sold Doc, but not if we sold Emerson? If anything, it should be the other way around. Not just because of the HG status, but also because Spence is a RWB, which Emerson isn't.

If he’s on the plane to Korea then him and Conte could very well had a conversation about him being in the team. Conte did wonders with Davies so who knows.
Also like you, I don’t mind Gio. He wasn’t bad but I think he could have been better. Also he doesn’t have a bad attitude like Ndombelly.

I could see Gio getting back in the team, he never seemed to have an issue with commitment but just didn’t produce consistently the way fans wanted. Conte might be able to sort him out then we have our creative midfielder gap sorted!
