Tottenham Hotspur are ready to ask for information on the price for Udinese centre-back Rodrigo Becao, according to a report from Italian outlet Messaggero Veneto.

Spurs have been one of the pace-setters in the transfer window. They have done some brilliant business and strengthened in a number of areas.

One of those is at centre-back, with Clement Lenglet arriving on loan from Barcelona. But it would appear that they are looking to add even more depth to the ranks.

Udinese are ready to sell the Brazilian. And there are a number of sides keen on signing Becao.

According to Messaggero Veneto, Torino and Everton are the two sides most interested in the 26-year-old. But Tottenham are also keen and are ready to ask what price the Serie A side want.

Udinese would reportedly sell Becao for around £16.9 million.

Tottenham ready to ask about Rodrigo Becao
Becao would be an interesting signing for Tottenham. Reports have linked Spurs with the likes of Josko Gvardiol and Alessandro Bastoni. So some will be underwhelmed with the idea of signing Becao.

In fairness, it does appear that Everton may be his most likely destination if he does prove to be Premier League-bound.

Tottenham do have plenty of depth at centre-back. The likes of Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon are excellent rotation options – should they stick around.

Becao would not cost a lot. And he should be at the peak of his powers given his age. He wins a lot of tackles and is keen to work hard for the team.

He is probably one of the options Fabio Paratici is keeping in mind as he pursues his top target. But maybe it is one name to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.

For them any transfers should be all money upfront .... although personally id rather not sell tanganga ideally loan him to PL club like Bournemouth or Forest for example and get a proper stable week in week out experience of the PL ... in many ways he needs a loan spell of good number of games i the same way Skipp did, so even if he went to a Champ side but getting regular footy would be great imo
This is the dilemma with Conte. He wants to win *now* not build a legacy for the future. Levy wants to win now and build a legacy. So it's a tightrope to walk. Loan definitely is the best option right now.

Torino president Urbano Cairo has revealed he has agreed to sell Gleison Bremer this summer but insists the Tottenham-linked defender is worth more than €70 million (£59m).

Bremer has emerged as one of the most sought-after players this transfer window after he won the Serie A’s Best Defender award last season (FootballItalia).

90min report Torino are hoping to attract a big fee for the Brazilian now that his stock is high while a number of the Il Toro’s chiefs travelled to England to try and incite a bidding war between clubs.

It was also explained that Spurs, Woolwich and Chelsea met with the club’s officials to enquire about Bremer, who made 33 appearances as part of a resolute defence last term (Transfermarkt).

But the aforementioned Premier League clubs have now been sent a price warning by Torino president Cairo, who feels his player is worth more than the €70m fee Paris Saint-Germain have been quoted for Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar.

Cairo told La7 (12/07/22 – via Football Italia): “Is there a fair price for Bremer? There is, but I don’t think it’s fair to say it.

“I am on excellent terms with his agent and I have spoken to him. The player is an extraordinary guy. I told him that when a suitable offer arrives, I would sell him. But everything is relative.”

“I hear about €70m (£59m) for Skriniar. I think Bremer is worth more. My goal is to please him. And I will do because, in any case, those who can afford him will be top-level teams.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Bremer is obviously a talented asset available in the market this summer but he may not necessarily be the sort of profile Spurs need in defence right now.

They have just signed Clement Lenglet to cover the central and left centre-back positions for the season, but a bigger name could be on the club’s radar going forward.

Perisic - good player, should be an upgrade on Reguilon/Sessegnon, let’s see how he fits in Premier League and if he can stay fit.

Bissouma - I like him, I think he’s going to be our best midfielder. Good transfer fee aswell.

Richarlison - not a fan, but he can cover all front three. Interested to see him play, hopefully he can provide goals or assists when he’s on the pitch.

Langlet - really not sure what to say about this one. Could be decent I guess, but I don’t think at the moment he’s an upgrade on Davies.

Bergwijn - not the best player in the team but I think Conte may have not played him to his strengths. I thought he showed signs of quality and possibly a string of games away to show what he can do.

Per overall,
Forster is not an upgrade on Gollini (didn’t expect to)
Perisic should be an upgrade at LWB, but let’s see.
Bissouma is definitely an upgrade.
Richarlison is a better option than Moura in attack, but I don’t know if he’s really a better player than Bergwijn.
Langlet not an upgrade in defence.

So imo we’ve improved CM and possibly LWB. Still need a RWB and a CB at least imo, maybe a creative midfielder too, to consider this an effective transfer window.

I still think he's worth that, not that we will likely meet that valuation.

Sure, a good performance in a friendly counts for "something" but I would not pay much attention to individual performances solely based on friendlies
I remember a few years back when Spurs beat Lyon in a friendly. Back then, Lyon was among the best teams in Europe, over several seasons, and Spurs fans were thinking Spurs all of a sudden was a top-team - only to go thru yet another mediocre EPL season.
Man Utd beat Liverpool 4-0 in a friendly yesterday. Are all of a sudden most of Liverpool's players" less" than those of Man Utd?

When Juande Ramos arrived we won 6 out of 6 friendlies. Last one was 5-0 v Roma. We just glossed over the fact that we were about 3 weeks ahead of them in preparation.
Fast forward a few weeks and we are ...played 8 games....2 points. Bottom of the league .
Harry Redknapp arrives.
Take no notice of pre season.

Forster is an upgrade on Gollini, anyone is

There is some mitigation. I remember watching one pre-season match where Berba was strolling about playing through balls for new signing Gio dos Santos like they'd been teammates for ever.

Come deadline day, Levy flogged the genius Berba to manure (securing journeyman Fraizer Campbell as a loan replacement lol), and GDS was (allegedly) turning up late for training....
