Transfers Summer 2022 Transfer Thread.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

And the sun, city and guarantee to be battling for league title and (kinda) CL each season. At United it's crap weather most of the year, could end up scrapping for 4th place, might even end up playing conference league over the next few years.

Yeah I think even in United's 'prime' they'd have struggled to nail down this transfer. Could see Frenkie moving to City for Pep, but otherwise it's a step down both in sporting terms & in terms of lifestyle, so why would he be eager?

Sure United have a Dutch manager .. but it's United. Hardly a guarantee he's there very long.

Agree here. Barcelona are a fucking joke. Absolute biggest wank club around at the moment - honestly its borderline criminal, how they are acting.

If they folded tomorrow, I would dance on their proverbial grave.
But.. but... but... they are MORE than a club! They're the sporting voice of a cruelly oppressed nation! Forced to live for centuries under the vicious yoke of Castilian FASCISM!

Pep Guardiola said so!!!

I mean tbf, to a Dutch player with De Jong's skillset, it's easy to see why Barca would be considered the peak of his career. There's a reason he was desperate to go only there in the first place, to Ajax players that's considered the natural evolution, similar style of play/ethos, just a higher level.

But yes, United's pull is starting to drop off for sure.

The point is, 15 years ago this transfer probably would have already happened. Fergie, titles etc.
That is not what United are anymore. They've been surpassed by City, Chelsea and Liverpool. They've won nothing for 5 or 6 years now and don't look like wining anything for 5 or 6 more years.
Will the world get on their back if they went a decade without a trophy like us?
Probably not. Because i's Man United and half the media and the majority of plastic fans still try to push the narrative that they're an elite club. They're just not anymore.
My ultimate dream for them is for them to keep blowing massive amounts of money trying to buy their way to success and keep failing. I want them lumped with mediocre players they can't sell that are on massive wages and I want them to drop off to a team that rarely troubles the top 6 anymore.
I fucking hate United.

La Liga and UEFA are just as bad (if not worse) for allowing them to get away with it.

Their accounts/debts ought to be punished; but the whole selling off shares in future income thing is dodgy as fuck and shouldn't be allowed.

Seems to me it wouldn't be a great idea to sell them a player for a lot of money as there probably no guarantee you'll get the money

Lisandro Martinez to United is good new for us in the chase for Pau Torres.

we have a free run at him if we want him, basically.

Seeing this is a Spurs Transfer Thread is no one else worried that we have not been linked to anyone but Kounde recently and we still have not signed anyone who improves our defense.
Lenglet will be good under Conte. Bissouma is one of the best ball winning midfielders in the league. Club is in a good place, if there's a profile of player Conte feels he needs, the club will find a player to fill it.

It's still early in the transfer window. Just because we were able to get a good chunk of our transfer business done early doesn't mean we can get all transfers early. Some will take longer, whether we like it or not. There are a lot of moving parts to transfers and we'll just have to wait for these parts to move. Or we can go for plan D and get players in early, but I don't think anyone wants that.

La Liga are a lot stronger than epl. They have a hard wage cap in place if they break their FFP(which is monitored annually) . This is what's stopping them signing players where our ffp would still allow it.

There is leeway for clubs going in the right direction, roughly for every 4 euros saved reducing their wage bill they are allowed to spend 1 euro on new wages

Everton have been told Wolves will accept a £10milion bid for Adama Traore this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
But the winger, 26, is hopeful of securing a move to a top-four Premier League club.

Wolves are willing to cash in on Traore with 12 months remaining on his contract.

Spence is worth £20m????
