So, do you honestly think we will sign another player? I’m not talking the Udinese lad by the way, who’s being loaned back. I just can’t see us signing anybody else now and have thought this for a while that Spence is our final signing. Just wondering why people are so convinced we are definitely bringing 1 or 2 more in? Have I missed something?

I think Antonio would be bitterly disappointed if that was the case, mate.

So let us hope the next few weeks sees us finally flex our financial muscle and exploit our huge unparalleled FFP wriggle room to plug our deficiencies and take the steps he was alluding to in his recent Sky Italian interview

I think it's very likely we'll sign a CB as cover for Dier now that Rodon's gone. It's a glaring hole in the squad. When Dier was out last year, we suffered.

Like how City got Kane last year, and how Chelsea got Modric in 2011.

Levy you bastard!
Ha ha...Two examples in 10 years :harrylol:

And both of which have absolutely nothing to do with the point being made....🤷‍♀️

Football clubs to not have to publicly put their players up for sale for the transfer market to function.

It's up to the buying club to go out and pursue their target and far more often than not the clubs with the financial muscle (and we are one of those, ain't we?) get their way and the weaker club succumbs.

It's how it's always been. And always will be

He wouldn't be the first manager we disappointed mate but it might be that our business is done hopefully not but wouldn't surprise me.

Zaniolo does not make sense to me.
Aside from his significant injury history, he's only made 8 assists in his whole career (100 appearances). I don't see how that will add the creative element we lack.

Maddison got as 8 assists in the PL last season itself.

In our world, for the last 20 years, if he's cheaper, it makes sense.

I think we all hoped this was starting to change.

Say it quietly, but WH are doing better work than Chelsea and United and possibly even Woolwich.

Not really. If Chelsea end up with Sterling, Koulibaly, Cucurella, De Jong(?), another good cb and Chukwaemeka(for the future) that's a better window than most in the PL.

Woolwich have had a decent window. Jesus and Zinchenko both strengthen that first XI, Saliba coming back is great for them.

United I'd agree with you, but Ars and Che have brought in multiple players who'll improve the XI and will be high level PL players.. don't think any West Ham signing provides that guarantee.

Kostic

Maybe I jumped the gun giving them credit

I just posted 4 high profile cases from recent summers.... You dodged those.

2 more:

Raphina/Chavs
Raphina/Arse

They absolutely do. See below for why....

There are 3 components to any deal (in no particular order):

1. Desire of potential buyer.
2. Desire of 'owning' club.
3. Desire of player.

Without all 3 in synch there is no deal.

Without no. 2 & 3 in place; a player is essentially "UNAVAILABLE."

A number of "Yeh, but......"'s no doubt incoming, but the above facts will remain the same.

Your claim depends on us only ever doing business with clubs poorer than ourselves; by which token why did the FAR richer Man City not score Kane last summer?

A few of them on SC genuinely think we could sign Bellingham.
