If we're going down the road of a 'throw chaos in to the mixer' option then you might as well sign Adama for a fraction of the price/wages. Maximin is better but not so much better than he'd justify a huge fee at all.

(Oh and he's a lazy. Really bad at running off defenders & barely presses most of the time, which was partly why Howe actually dropped him last season. Conte would hate him for that.)

ASM 5 goals 5 assists last year which is not bad.

I think his end product is better than Adama, who seems to have lost his way.

I didn’t know he was lazy and bad at pressing, but if so then it’s unlikely Conte will like him. Unless he thinks he can change his attitude?

It's sort of meh given for a lot of the season the tactic for Newcastle was give him the ball. Howe took over from Bruce and actually turned them in to a team. He's a talented, exciting footballer & better than Adama but he's still a headless chicken and a bit of a maverick.

Plus after the City game Newcastle probably stick some silly value at him. I don't really buy the links, he's very much not what we need & on paper very ill suited to the manager. He'd piss a lot of people on here off.

Maybe Toney as the sub target man when chasing a goal since the other backup STs seem to be out of form. Eze I think is a little overrated at this point. Talented but it's not like he's 19. He's 24 and has been good not great for a good not great CP team. Plus has been injured. England has a ton of good players. The problem is just fitting them together, in what formation, etc. The guys in form in the league vs the guys who have played well for England. Tough to have a completely new lineup every major tournament because there's no familiarity. Reece James, Kyle Walker, TAA, and maybe even Trippier are some of the most world-class players in the squad but impossible to fit them all in.

We are definitely going to sign another attacker. There’s suddenly been tons of links the past couple days. Too much smoke to not be a fire. I just don’t know which one considering Don Fabio is probably negotiating with all of them.

I don’t think we get another CB unless Tanganga goes first.
 
I always get suspicious when a bunch of names get leaked through the media at once. Seems like something Paratici would do to add noise/confusion to outsiders as he locks in on his true target.

Given we’re not after a Maddison style #10, is he not the sort of player who would bring some variety to our squad?
His skillset is very different from Kulu, but is that not a plus?

I agree with you that he’s not the ideal Conte player, but after a few months of Contes training regime he may shine.

No thanks. He’s another flibity Gibit. Capable of moments of of jiggery pokery, but 95% of what he does after the jiggery pokery is erratic.

agreed. Look, ASM and Traore have value, but realistically are they even a 10% upgrade on Moura? They don’t particularly offer anything Lucas doesn’t. I’m not even sure Traore is an upgrade at all tbh.

We have yet to be linked with anyone I’d characterize as a clear upgrade on Bergwijn btw. Maddison and Zaha the only exceptions but they’ll cost £60m. I can accept Malinovskyi as at least he offers something different in a profile we are lacking.

Have to question anyone that doesn’t rate ASM after yesterday.
