Gordon has 1 season under his belt for a shocking Everton side that nearly went down.
No one should be paying big money for that.

No one but Man United and Chelsea as it's funny when they waste big money on flops

He is a top player for his age. He is more than worth £30m but the question is whether he is ready and suits what we need.

Pros

- Very strong
- Very quick
- Good dribbling and close control
- Aggressive both in attack and defence
- never stops

Cons

- Young and inexperienced
- G/A needs to be higher although admittedly he plays in a crap Everton team

Last season was his first season where he played in the majority of Everton's games - 40 appearances in total versus previous seasons high of 2 appearances)

Lots of potential - the unknown as with all young players is whether he will step up and perform at a higher level (with maybe double last years goal involvements) in the coming season, as that's what is needed.

So do we go for experience or is Conte happy that Gordon can step up a gear this season.

Just trying to gauge what peoples actual feelings on him are without taking some insane premium into consideration as I know next to nothing about him.

And let’s be honest none of us here have a clue of the actual asking price.

The rumoured £60m is far too high, even if it includes lots of add ons, as that's the price for an experienced player with a track record over several years (which Gordon does not).

A fee something like say £35m indicates we think he will perform very well this coming season with say 15+ goal involvements and the hope he will improve again in 2023/24. That kind of target of 15 goal involvement is double what he achieved in 21/22 - 4 goals and 3 assists in 40 appearances.

But if Everton want £40m+ its all academic

I would say Gordon is best off waiting for his contract to run down to force his price down, but it runs until 2025 and he "only" earns £2,500 a week,
He's probably desperate to get out. And, if he doesn't, you gotta think he would have cause to go to Everton management and say "2 of the biggest teams in the league wanted me, I want a payrise and a new deal"

Absolute no brainer. Free. KNows the coach. Knows the club. Knows the players he'd be teeing up.
We probably told him that we're interested but 343 is the main system so he's gonna be backup. And that's always gonna be the problem trying to sign a position specific player.
Yeah I don't think an AMF player will want to come and be a bench warmer in case Conte decides on the occasional occasion that we need one.

He's more likely to get someone who is a winger but could play AMF if need be. IE someone else like Kulusevski (positionally speaking). According to reports we'll sign another forward to replace Gil.

I really haven't seen anything to mark him out as special or even close to it. Typical winger, bit of pace but not much end product. If we have to drop £45m/£50m to get him then there are better homegrown options that we could get for that imo.

He isn’t so it’s a moo point

Ridiculous this Gordon links. 60 mil for a prosoect? Fuck off!!! I’d rather spunk 50 mil on Zaha. Someone who will come in and instantly improve us. Gordon will be another benchwarmer for Conte. Another Levy signing this will be.

The way player prices are I'd have no issue with us paying 30-35m. He's hg, extremely talented, if he keeps up his trajectory he's capable of being a top player. 60m would be crazy money for a guy without proven goal-scoring ability though.
