If the 50m + 10m addons figure for Gordon to the chavs is correct, then maybe we've just been driving the price up.

We don't want the chavs competing for & trying to gazump us for our top targets, and FFP has to kick in sooner or later. Surely.

With Zaniolo crocked again, we will soon see if there are any alternatives (apart from Malinovskiy) that Conte would accept.

We know Paratici will have a shortlist and taken soundings of agents. Paqueta was mentioned earlier in the window, but we don't know how keen Conte is on him. Plus various HG names at inflated prices.

Agree we can't compete with their spending and although we had the 150m injection from enic we look skint again hence probably why we are looking at loan deals and people with a year left on the contract.
Still also need a CB but I can't see who would be available now unless again it fits the criteria above
 
We’ve made mostly smart purchases. Surely we aren’t going to blow 50m on Gordon. We inquired on him during Richarlison talks and he’s done nothing of note in the first few games so no reason we’d decide he’s worth more now.

Thought all along the £150m was just to allow us to to buy players before selling players. But the fanbois wouldn't have it.
We've done clever business this year. I put all of that down to the Italians and not ENIC. If we had no Paratici or Conte, we'd still be trying to shift players and struggling to bring any in.

Zanolo should be nowhere near our radar.

Injury plagued players are best left well alone.

There are many other players we should be looking at to replace Gil. If we can’t find the perfect one to spend a big fee on then a loan for the Atalanta guy would make sense, similar to how we failed on Bastoni and brought Lenglet instead. We shouldn’t spend big just for the sake of it.

No one's asking the big question.. can lampard be convinced to buy Winks to replace Gordon. Did it with Dele, surely it can happen again.
