Player Dejan Kulusevski

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Kulusevski isnt the club. He isnt even a permanent Spurs player. I personally think hes slower than my nan, cant beat a player 1 v 1, goes missing in games but does occasionally come up with a goal against weak opposition. And he sometimes has some decent moments as well.

But the way he is hailed as prime Messi in here is frankly odd. And also act like 22 is really young in this day and age. Based on the few moments Richarlison has had so far, he should start ahead of Kulusevski against nottingham. Super lively
A shoe number iq.

Kulusevski isnt the club.

Perhaps point out where someone has said that he is.....?

He isnt even a permanent Spurs player.

Save for a technicality, he is.

In the meantime, everything he's doing is in a Spurs shirt, so no less consequential than if (eg) Kane does it.

If that back-handed compliment is as much as you can muster, then your opinion really isn't worth taking seriously.

But the way he is hailed as prime Messi

"Prime Messi"?

Really...?

in here is frankly odd.

Not just here.... Not just Spurs fans either.... Plenty of neutrals and pundits are thoroughly impressed with him since he arrived.

And also act like 22 is really young in this day and age.

LOL.... Age..... You're blatantly just digging for things to grouch about now.

Perhaps Conte rotates one of Son (who'd be far more deserving!) or Kulu for Rich.... But if he does, it sure as hell won't be cos he's this highly mediocre player you describe.

Super Trouper...

Super Kulu
His skills are going to blind me
But I don't feel blue
Cos he's so f-ing cool
He's ginger
And from Sweden too

I think you should Watch&Learn

I'd argue that Kulu is already more important to our attack than Son is, such is our need for playmakers and not just clinical finishers.
I'd still argue that Son is our most important attacker by way of him just being on the pitch.

Just take a close look at our games and see how focused opposing defenses are on stopping Son. Even when he's not directly contributing with an goal / assist, he's often drawing a couple defenders out and opening up space for others.

For instance, against SH - he provided an assist to Dier yes but the other 3 goals we scored, he drew double teams and opened up tons of space for the the attack.

Against Chelsea - it was his pressure and interception in the box that led to the first goal from PEH.

Against Wolverhampton - his corner that led to the goal.

It's no coincidence that when Son is off it, our team does not look anywhere near the same.

Kulu is excellent and one of the best young attackers in the league, but you can't say that he's more important to our attack than a player like Son who is the primary focus of defenses. Until he commands that kind of focus and attention from opposing defenses, it's difficult to compare him with the likes of Kane/Son.

My point was alluding to the fact that there’s a big difference between being a passenger when you are an opposing teams main focus and target vs being a passenger when you are a 3rd or 4th option.
whether hes being paid special attention to or not, you expect a footballer to be able to keep the ball in simple situations and not lose it 90% of the time. forced errors you can understand, a bunch of unforced ones just fucking kill us.

That’s absolutely true so when he’s playing bad or just looks like he forgets how to play football, I agree, we should drop him. Just like we should drop any player that’s in a slump.

But to ignore his importance to the team is crazy. Every opposing teams coach first defensive priority is to stop Son from getting in behind or finding any space. If they fail, they’re likely going to lose - simple as that.

the inferior sides set up to counter and sit deep anyway which is sons kryptonite. hes a counter attacking player, all his best games are against teams who come out to go toe to toe like liverpool and city etc.

he would be the best impact sub in the world in games against inferior sides where we are a goal or 2 up and a fresh son comes on against a side chasing and having to commit forward. his goals per min ratio would be a joke.

sons first name on the team sheet against the best team in the world (city) its horses for courses.

May be it’s a bit of both. Son is better generally when we can play quick counter attacking football or release the ball early. However he looks shit when dier strolls around with ball and gives the opposition time to get back into place. Son then has the ball pinged to him facing our goal and defender breathing g down his neck. We all know that is not really Sons beat attribute. Kulu on the other hand has great close control but looks better when are playing in the opposition half like on Saturday. He was defo one of our most threatening players in the 2nd half. Only problem is again our defence and cm are slow to get him the ball especially if Son is being marked out of it. What kulu could really do with is a fast rwb on the overlap to either play him through or use as decoy and then cut inside on to his left. I’d love to see spence play there and go bombing down the right. Would help kulu so much than having royal or Doh.

Humiliating yourself publically again?!

think kulu looked good when he was with doc end of last year, doc makes good forward runs, pretty much his main attribute.

I think we are shy of a number 10'ish AM. But I say this because other than Kane we don't possess one but I've no idea if Conte sees if we need one. Conversely, I get the links to Malinovskyi as Conte could change our shape with him to a 3-5-2, as when Conte has gone 3-5-2 in previous teams his playmaker is the deepest (Fabregas, Brozovic), I thought this perhaps would suit Bentancur's skill set but we haven't seen it yet (maybe he has no plans to go to 3-5-2 which is a shame IMO).

it's weird people are still thinking Deki can play the #10 role.

I think if that were the case Conte would've tried it already.

In fact, Conte does the exact opposite. As we saw against Wolves, Conte actually makes Emerson tuck inside like an inverted Wingback and keep Deki with his feet on the sideline.

I'm sure Emerson's attacking limitations go into this tactic but i remember Conte doing it a few times last season as well.

Yeah. like he didn't done it allready with Emerson.

It's a shame that some "so called Spurs fans" constantly throw shit on our players. It is fascinating that is allways about Dier, PEH, Emerson, Davies, real pros who gives everything on the pitch every game.
