I've got more chance of signing for Forest for 20mil than an oft injured second string CB from Spurs, and i haven't kicked a pig skin in anger for over twenty years.
I seriously struggle with the idea of Zaha's ego accepting being a back-up role for anyone.
They suit clubs that rarely face a parked-bus.... But players that boast little more than pacey dribbling aren't much use otherwise.
It's problematic enough that Son struggles to make an impact in such situations; but we really don't need to clutter the squad up with one of a number of jacked-up Lucas Mouras.
....Then of course with have Rich who's good for running at defences to cause a little proverbial chaos too.
We already thrive in counter attacking situations so really, what is the "right situation" that we don't already have covered?
Nuno wasn't here in 2022.

Is there a league table of academy products about? I feel like we don’t produce our fair share of PL regulars, esp considering facilities and funding.

If you're implying that the 4.25 billion is debt that will burden Chelsea, you're wrong. Boehly's group didn't buy Chelsea with... Chelsea's money. The debt is on the buyer not the club.
No worse than Emerson imo, both of them have mainly been full backs in their careers.
