Or an injury to one of our LWB means we change formation to 433 .and play Davies and Royal as FBs for certain matches.
The issue I have with Doherty is that he's even behind Moura in the RWB position.

Tbh I accepted the fact that we won’t have a great right back in the next 50 years. It is what it is.
Opinions but general consensus is that Doh is crap at LWB. He has no pace anyway and has to cut inside all the time so negating his one good ability at putting the ball in the box with his right foot.
Don’t think it was said that he was good at LWB was it, numb nuts.
Only that he’s more likely to be out there, due to injuries, than Davies is.

Watched Kyiv vs Benfica this evening to keep an eye on Zibarnyi. Really like the look of him, they were spanked 3-0, Benfica are miles better than them all over the field, but he looks a real good player for a guy just short of 20yo. Wouldn't mind him as a Dier back up, better ball player and much higher potential than Rodon.

He was pretty good at RWB during his pre injury spell last season. I'm not his biggest fan but to say he can barely play that role is harsh. He's obviously a fish out of water at LWB though, and hopefully we never have to see that again..

He's ok as a WB but really struggles to take on his man and with minute footwork (despite being generally tidy). Ok outside shot that has connected before. He'd do a job there in a pinch, but we really ought to be looking at a more dynamic attacking option for a team at our level. Ben is exactly where he was made to be- LCB.
Early days but I'd love to see Spence given a chance. No idea when our early cups games are but I hope he impresses.
He was playing as a LB not LWB and playing as a LWB under Conte is an entirely different role compared to playing as an overlapping FB for Poch.
La Masia on Ham
If memory serves, he was playing on the left when he got injured against Villa towards the end of last season and not doing too bad a job as I recall (certainly well enough for Villa to target him).
Still think the major problem our team had at the end of last season remains. Wingbacks! Persic is a good addition but is limited by age and injury. Spence has not yet been given a chance. Royal is not a good wingback and neither is Sessegnon. Docherty plays more like a right sided midfielder in my humble opinion
