I've seen a decent amount of Isak- 59m seems like way too much. I'm prepared to eat my words if he sets the prem alight though. I'd rather have Callum Wilson personally...

Incremental improvement.
They’re basically copying City who didn’t become brilliant overnight. They’ll go through some transitional players who improve the team considerably ( probably putting them on the cusp of Europe or maybe put them in a secondary competition), giving them credibility before they can attract the Silva snd Rodris of the world. Bruno G and Isak are exactly the profile that will improve them and give them credibility as a destination

Similarly, Howe is a transitional coach before they can grab a major name.
Eddie is the new Mark Hughes… same old format, best manager they could currently get, give it two years and they will boot him out regardless

It's understandable though.

Teams will move on to potentially their second, third, fourth choices the later the transfer window rolls on and I can imagine it's just easier for Winks himself to stay in England as well as want to play in the Premier League over all else.

He'll move though, regardless. It'd just be nice if it was sooner rather than later.
Wonder if saints might come in for him

I'm fairly serene about all this.

If we don't make another signing I think we will still be very good this year and I'm excited to see the new boys get fully introduced.

If Tanganga and Gil stay then they are basically fine as 6th choice in their respective positions.
I'm sure we will not sanction their exit without a replacement lined up.

If we do ship them out I don't think it's that hard to upgrade on those two. Even if it's a fairly meh signing like Traore, he's sure to contribute more over a season than Gil.

I also take comfort in the way many signings have emerged from nowhere, seemingly at advanced stages, since Paratici has been here. I would be surprised if that doesn't happen again in the next week.

They've just shelled out North of £4Bn. You honestly think they'll sell for more in 3-5 years?

Part of the £4+Bn was paying off the debt the club had run up, so it's not actually part of the club "value."

I honestly think they'll be lucky to get their money back, unless the super League happens.
I’m sure they’ve run the numbers and expect a healthy return. Will they get it… how knows

Only seven days left to bring in another couple of players I can see this being the "we tried but no one available" statement incoming.
Yes. That will be their statement. Together with "we signed 6 players weeks before the start of the new season and another one for the future, all of which Conte signed off on."

You seriously need to start living in 2022, mate.
