You’re probably right but it’s a bullshit logic from the clubs point of view.I can sort of grasp the logic. Gil has actual potential & we probably want him somewhere where he plays week in week out, either so we actually end up with a big fee or he plays for us in the future. James/Adama would just be stopgap squad options, we don't care about their development much.
But it's a shit squad option & if we're in a position where we rely on James then we're fucked. He wasn't good enough to be a squad player at United & he's not good enough to start for Leeds. This isn't improving our depth.
It’s all well and good signing shit home grown players for the sake of fulfillling the quota, but it’s not okay when it’s in a position where you might actually have to use said shit player.
