Depressing news with 3 days to go, apparently we’re not signing a CB anymore either

Very strange, Rodon was the most natural cover for Dier. Tanganga fits in the RCB spot and we already have Romero and Sanchez. Every other position we have cover but we are now reliant on Dier being fit all the time unless we have plans to switch to a back 4 at some point.

From todays presser it sounds like Conte would like more. 'I spoke to the club and told them my opinion, but if we do something or not its ok' Also says 2 more transfer windows needed to put together a title challenging team.

I'm glad he agrees with me. I said back in January that it would take two summer transfer windows to get the squad where Conte wants it. Also, the same reason why I don't see him fucking off any time soon.

Happy for Tanganga to stay as 6th choice CB.

Not happy to swap Gil for James.

Gil for Traore is more palatable.

Gil for Malinovski would be best as we need a passer and goal threat in there.
Specifically re Tanganga, with Winks likely going to Italy, we'll only have 3 club-trained HG players (Kane, Skipp, Austin) for our squads if Japhet leaves too. (Squad experts please correct me if I'm wrong.)

So from the club's perspective, there is a good case in keeping Tanganga for what will be a long, disrupted, season.

Davinson, Dier, Davies are all examples of how Conte & his team's coaching can improve defenders in our tactical system. So if Japhet stays, and gets opportunities because of injuries, perhaps he will begin to fulfil his early potential.

Yea i think he'll sign a short extension and we'll get next year with him if he doesn't throw a strop for any reason and results are good. Cant see it being much longer than that. Maximum he has done at one club is 3 years and his family still live in Italy, so not ideal.
