Having read the thread and responses from the source denying the deal it appears from AM fans that the club is on debt and in need of funds.

If we can’t get Carrasco, I’d love us to get Sergino Dest off Barca. He’s an offensive minded player much more suited to play wing back than right back.

I really don’t get the excitement about Carrasco. I’ve watched him throughout his career, starting at Monaco.
He’s not really a great wing back, certainly not at club level. He’s been used as a LWB more by Martinez I think because they have no FB’s.
AM he’s mostly played as a LW/LM ahead of a back 4.
He’s had some ok productive seasons in France and Spain, but nothing generally earth shattering and most of those numbers were clocked up as a wide attacker/inverted forward not a WB. He is also fucking erratic and unreliable too - and has been part of a malfunctioning AM team.
We have more or less what he offers in Richarlison and Peresic.
And he’s almost 29. Either spend the wheelbarrow cash on a better quality option but do t waste any more 30k’s on players who aren’t much of an upgrade and have no age upside potential.

Has Conte asked for 2 more players? However he did say 2 more transfer windows.
Tell me all about what Gil as done in England that makes him even 0.01% better than James.
Give me one example. It can be one moment, in a game in England, that is evidence he would be any better for us or any team, than Dan James?

Who knows. All we can be sure about is that if/when Gil goes out on loan, someone else is coming in. Conte would throw a shit fit otherwise. I've got faith Paratici is lining something up that'll suddenly be done by the time it's reported (oh, and while it's great we got business done early, this really is the time of the window that crazy amounts of deals happen. See: Winks and Reguilon finally going).
