Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Let's see how they spend over the next couple windows, the owner is obviously interested in splashing cash and making a good first impression. Just think it's a bit early to say it will be sustained.

That said, what a massive amount of money they've spent between just Fofana and Gvardiol (170 million euros)
It will be interesting to see if they can get the revenue growth not to run into FFP trouble. I do wonder if it is Saudi money too.

Gvardiol looks a top talent.. Chelsea mean business going forward. Fofana, Gvardiol, James, Cucurella, Chilwell, Koulibaly is scary options for the back 5.

There will be other great options for us in that position next year. First hurdle we have to clear is finishing in a CL spot this year and signing an option for RW that isn't Dan James.
Their defence is now sorted for the next decade AND they have Koulibaly for right now. Crazy

They bossed us in the first half. We did absolutely nothing. Second half we did improve, but we never had a genuine grip on the game at any point, tbh. Only chance from open play I remember was a Son near post shot.

We won so whatever, move on. But if a Wolves team who don't have a win can do that to us in our own backyard then I don't think its just Chelsea we'll be worried about.
This is the thing some people on here are completely bowled over just by the result. If that header in the first half v wolves goes in diff story. If the ref gives a foul for the first goal v chavs or Romero hair pull is given as foul play then we’d all be having a different conversation. We let forest cross the ball across our 6 yard box numerous times. We have 7 defensive players but cannot stop the oppo from getting into dangerous situations. V forest there was one bit of play where we diving and blocking a number of shots. It was like watching a team desperately defending and not one in control of the gane. We need to take control with the ball and also snuff out attacks.

It’s probably my own fault, but I was watching a Spurs “fan” channel on YouTube last night and I never realised that 10 points from 12 is a crisis.

Whilst I can agree we’ve not played “champagne football” so far, we’re hardly in the bottom three and getting smacked by everyone we’ve played so far.

Yes, the transfer window could be better, but they make it sound like we’ve signed no-one decent and can’t win a game at the moment.
The state of some people moaning does make you cringe , doesn’t it?

So Chelsea signing Gvardiol & Fofana but we get Lenglet in on loan and everyone’s screaming there’s no top talent available at CB?

I mean, we just signed Romero today.

:contekiss:

And he's better than any centre back Chelsea have to offer now or future.

God bless Cuti.

In all honesty, I don't think anyone has said there isn't top talent available. We would NEVER sign a player for 90,000,000 who we couldn't play until next year. And we were never going to waste our money on a Leicester centre back who has barely played football since May 2021.

Both of them are risks and that risk nearly amounts to 200,000,000....

If our target is Bastoni but he's only gettable next summer, I'd rather do the Liverpool thing and wait it out.

That header in the first half against Wolves had a 5% chance of going in. Five percent. You think it's a big chance, but it's not. And it's the same with all the other chances we have given up. And if we happen to give up a goal, guess what: we're creating plenty to get back and go on and win, as we did with Soton. Go back and watch these matches again and you tell me if we were ever really bothered. Sure we started slow, but when we decided to play, we were out of sight.
