Transfers Summer 2022 Transfer Thread.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Look, if money is no object, the player looks a decent bet. If we announced a similar deal in the morning I'd be very excited. But spending big money on talented players doesn't cancel out all the variables down the line.
I agree.

Naby Keita looked outstanding for RB Leipzig, and the dippers had to do a similar deal to the one the chavs have just done with Gvardiol - a big transfer fee for a player who stayed in Germany for a season.

Keita has not developed into a dominant PL CM and there are suggestions the dippers are now looking to get rid.

I suspect RBL told interested clubs "if you want Gvardiol, the price is 90m and he stays with us for a season". The chavs agreed to that structure, but no other club would.

I note there were rumours linking shitty to Gvardiol but, as with Cucurella, Guardiola / Begiristain didn't bite at that price.

So apparently we are not the only ones to miss out on signings sometimes. Who would have thought it - not the WUM's on here for sure !

Liverpool are not trying to get to the top level. They are there. They’ve won everything there is to win over the last number of years by investing consistently in quality players to improve the team. They have made the step.

Comparing them to us now is laughable.

Can all the melts melt away?

Since we turned a corner - pinpointed after that Burnley game, which we only lost because Winks played the 2nd half, we've lost 2 of 18 games. One was an utter fluke away to Ronaldo FC and the other was a tricky match against Brighton. Again fueled by Winks being involved.

2 losses in 18 games and you lot are wetting the fucking bed. And we've added quality players who are first 11 ready.

To be fair i was unaware of that stat.

All the more proof, if proof were needed that Conte has put together a mindset and system that suits the players that he inherited and reinforced his style of play with the players he has sent Paratici out to get.

We are not playing to our strengths yet, but when we do will become a force to be reckoned with.

Not according to Klopp, he's not best pleased with his signings.

And I suspect he knows how Liverpool is placed better than you

Long term targets for me moving forward would be Meslier, Bastoni etc

I think the window has been a great one personally as when I look at where we can develop moving forward it's obvious it isn't with a focus on fleshing out the depth, which we really needed to do this summer.

Phase 1 nearly complete, the next steps will be top young players and heavyweight first XI improvements I feel.

It's been a crucial window as it has given us much of what we need and have lacked since way before Poch and that's genuine depth.

Hmm. Looks like Amine Gouri is on the move to Rennes for something approaching €30m. Really like watching him play, not the best fit for us now seeing as we need somebody to play RW. Think he'd be a great signing for Southampton. If he had better striking/finishing he'd have world class potential.
