That’s the funny/sad part about football twitter, in real life if you saw a 14-18 year old talking about football, you wouldn’t pay too much attention unless they’re reading out the starting lineup before kick off because they’re young and haven’t seen a lot and get too bought in by flavour of the month players, but on Twitter those very same 14-18 year olds can build platforms and become influential within the fanbases of the clubs they support because they have the free time to just tweet all day. Of course there’s some on FT that are well above (like worryingly above) the age of 18 that are far too happy to be speaking to and in group chats with teenagers but the vast majority are underage.
Leave Airfixx Airfixx outta this :contethumb::dawsonlol::dembelelol::mourhandlaugh::crouch::ossie:

Romero €50 million, Bissouma €35 million and Kulusevski will be €45 million (€10 million load fee + €35 million purchase fee whenever we decide to activate it), so no really the same as one Antony or Gvardiol… and also we haven’t seen Bissouma play for us yet so I’m not exactly sure why he’s in that discussion…

But in any case, I do get your point. Of course you can get good deals such as Bentacur etc, but the issue is we have been far too reliant on these type of deals for a Champions League outfit and a team that are *supposedly* trying to challenge for major titles.

The words of Poch will always sum up our approach to transfer windows, when he said “we have to stop thinking we can always just try to be clever in the market.”
It still rings true to this day unfortunately.

Yes, we did deviate from this approach.

We did by Poch words. Stopped being cleaver. Instead were stupid.
Signed Lo Celso and Ndombele. Two garbage players that will have combined price of~130-150 million euros with next to no productive input.

Also now we have deviated from this previous approach. And have paid 60 mil for rotational striker that we took off from another EPL teams hands... paying 50+ mil for a central defender is not "being cleaver" either, rather paying very big bucks.

So sit town and think again.

Paying 80 mil (so basically world record fee for the position) for young CB that you and some others were preaching here is hardly reasonable approach, cause it has roughly 0 upside (you already pay fee of worlds best CB) and can only lose with it. Not trying to be cleaver does not equal just throwing money everywhere in limitless amounts!

unsure, 29 years old and his record since moving to the prem has been really poor. Though he did look excellent in Ajax's run to the CL semi of course.
Dont think Chelsea would deal anyway

From my perspective I was happy we did deals early and who we got in , as was Conte. I admit I was hoping for possibly one or two more later in the window but that looks unlikely. The way I see it now, if Conte remains happy I personally as a Spurs fan will be fine with the window , if however Conte feels let down by the end of the window then I personally will not be happy . Strikes me that we have a class manager , If Levy keeps him happy we should not complain, if he doesn’t then I will revert to my previously well known disaffection with ENIC. At present Conte does not appear unhappy , but maybe he has expectations in the next 40 hours that need to be met

One thing for sure he won’t hide his satisfaction or dissatisfaction, so all will be revealed

I am personally bit sad that we did not try to sweep in for Fabian Ruiz.
26 (prime) yo; tall and strong (189 cm); CM with good ball-playing ability.
Was on last year of the contract and moved to PSG for 23 mil (estimated market value of 55 mil).

Would have been risk-free option (unless we would have offered very long contract with high base salary) in the sense that even if he wouldn't have coped with EPL intensity, we could have sold him back for similar amount.

A timeless classic. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to return some videotapes.

The book though is pretty much unreadable.

Maybe because he had his mind set on PSG
PS! But, yes, I would have liked him at Spurs
