I live out in Hertfordshire and my missus works at Watford A&E. she said a couple of locals said Sarr could be off to Spurs. Not heard that rumour and apologies if it’s already out there

Strange times for a deadline day, the club is in full lockdown and has been for a few days now. Between us we are all hearing similar.... We are trying for players but we are getting very limited information as to who we are currently trying to get in before close of play. We have 2 that could potentially leave today(plus Gil) but as Conte has said that won't happen unless replacements come in, and I doubt we let both go tbh. The club is 100% taking every precaution to hide any potential business. What I can say I have been told is that we already have an eye on January. Now my interpretation of that would be a player we've tried for, can't get, and their club needs them to sign a new contract. So Bastoni or Zaniolo, but that's just me taking an educated guess based on limited information. If that's the case then we clearly won't be looking to spend huge money on a player in that position now.

As for today, I wouldn't rule anything out, Be that 2 or 3 in, or even no one at all, as I genuinely have no idea how this will pan out. Hope to be able to bring a bit more as the day goes on and things progress.:)

we may get someone in, or no one! ITK!!!

So.... is there a single person here, who watched the game yesterday and who would be saying that we DON'T NEED better ball-playing CM ?!?

I am not saying that we should be using someone like David Silva and put him into CM - agreed that it would be too much. But someone like we all hoped Ndombele would turn out to be ?!?

Moyes cracked our gameplan with such an ease. He just let our CMs rise higher and higher and higher with the ball, while setting defensive block deeper. And it could not have worked better. Cause we have no fucking quality on the ball from CMs. Literally there were 0 dangerous situations from positional attack.

Don't come with this prebaked excuse "But, but, but, but Conte wants two workhorse CMs in his setup" - well, then let those players be workhorses then. But technically good workhorses with better passing ability. Cause after yesterday I can guarantee - it will be every bottom-half manager looking this example and letting our CMs rise while clogging the middle of the field, and we will be absolutely powerless.

Our xG across 90 minutes was 0.72 (!!) while theirs was 1.52.

After being told that Jennifer Lopez is not for sale, i have turned my attention back to:

Buried in all that mumble, a rare moment of naked honesty: "I genuinely have no idea"

Did you watch the game or did you have blindfolds on? We literally were better in the first half, when they let us have the ball in midfield. When we did struggle it was because our left side was left isolated and we could only play from Emerson and Sanchez, who are limited on the ball.

PEH, Bentancur and Bissouma have all shown that they are capable of playing aggressively with the ball. PEH has had some wonderful passes and drives forward in recent matches. They just need to do it more.

We can play much, much better than we did yesterday with the exact same players. Bissouma has shown with Brighton that he can do what Dembele used to do and run the midfield with and without the ball, let’s give him some time to show what he can do before we start freaking out.

Yes I did watch it.

We had time in midfield in both - first and second half. But we never punished them. PEH nor Bissouma couldn't just pick "killer pass", and attacks fizzled out from air.

I repeat myself - despite having loads of time on CM (Wet Spam hardly put pressure on) we managed to create chances enough for having xG of 0.72...

We didn't have time in the 2nd half. Every play was Sanchez -> Emerson -> Bissouma/PEH -> Sanchez/Dier. Rinse and repeat. Why did that happen? Because West Ham put more pressure in the midfield. In addition to that, PEH was quite static because he was injured.

Go and rewatch the game.
It might have been 60 minute mark, might have been 5 minutes to this or that side.

PEH and Bissouma basically walked up the pitch, exchanging passes. No pressure came from West Ham players. Cause they were busy marking the players who actually could be dangerous.
It happened number of times...

And once more - I am not saying we have to buy and always start someone like Rafa van der Vaart or David Silva in midfield. No.
But if opposition team GIFTS you free ride - I mean - just shift Kulusevski to middle and go from

----Son---Kane---Kulu
------PEH--Bissouma--

to
-----Son----Kane--
-Peh-Kulu-Bissouma-

for like 10 minutes, and already that can give you something...
though it would expect us having at least half-capable RWB that would push higher. Something that Royal is as equipped to do as I am :( .
