Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The thing is, in 2/3 years time all top half teams in prem will have managers that play possession based football and his style is going to stick out like a sore thumb.

That and not having a shot at winning the prem because Pep and Klopp will still be around could hurt his ego and force him to run back to his comfort zone.
He's already won the league with both of those managers present in the league so not sure it's going to be hurting his ego.

I love it! I completely trust Conte, and he knows more about how to setup and how players are training than a bunch of guys on the internet. I particularly thought his comments on Doherty were telling; he obviously thought he was good last year and he's just not good enough this year.

I think it's fantastic though. Conte is the guy who lives and dies by these decisions. If he does things his way and we end up winning silverware and having success, he's the guy who earned that (along with the players, obviously). By the same token, if he fails to win anything of consequence, that's on him as well. If I were in his position there is no chance I'd be listening to people online and what they think the setup should be or who should be starting. That's a recipe for disaster at the best of times.

And frankly, if a guy comes in and loses one game in the league over the past dozen (or whatever the number is), and we as supporters start melting right away it probably says more about us than it does about him anyway.

I appreciate your post but disagree on the counter's suitability for us- in my opinion it relies too much on the opponent making mistakes. I prefer strategies where we play positive, proactive football. It feels like we can have more potential control of the outcome that way.
I don't disagree, I was just pointing out the merits of a counterattacking set up.

Personally, I'd like to see us going for the jugular early doors, then use the counter setup as and when necessary.

Personal preference doesn't change the fact that it's a successful setup though.

Klopp?

Pulling up trees at the moment isn't he?

Have to be honest about 5 years ago we were the benchmark to premier league how a club is run and the style we played. Then levy pulls one of his ego masterstrokes and sacks poch and brings in the dinosaur one. Top 4 is minimum requirement this season imo.
